I have heard that Jay Leno is in the process of building a home here in The Villages, complete with 10 garages? Does anyone know if this is true? It would make since that he would love it here....cars, fun....

There was a false rumor 5-6 years ago that his mother lived here. Maybe what you heard is an extension of that legend.

But, hey, he is retiring next year, so, who knows?

This is a Premiere house under construction in the Palmetto course area. It takes up two lots, and has 10 garages.

The house by palmetto is being built by someone who does framing for houses being built in the villages. He certainly has job security for a couple years yet.

When we first moved here there was a rumor that his Leno's mother or mother-in-law lived over by palmer. There is a house with 6 or 7 garages over there someplace.

Wonder what his golf carts would look like?....

I'd bet that he'd adhere to the 19 MPH speed guidelines.

I think his house would be somewhere more secluded and secure, not in a neighborhood with other houses just a few feet away.

A 10 car garage would not hold 1/10 of Jay's car collection. You could gut one of the rec centers and still not have enough room for his collection. Go check out his web site as he does have a very nice collection.

How does one say this without being misintepreted as slamming TV?

I live in TV, I love living in TV, BUT BUT... I cannot imagine anyone with a net worth of hundreds of millions of dollars choosing TV

C'mon now :duck:

I don't think you're "slamming TV" in the least.

What you've said......is just plain common sense.

Even the developer and his family, who would have more reason to do it..... don't live with the bourgeoisie.

I think TV would be great no matter how much money you have! :^)

I agree that someone with his mega bucks would not want to live here. Plus, he is not a party person at all!

I'm curious as to why you think that.

For someone in his similar financial position, what do you think would be the attraction for them?

Well, I was really kinda kidding. I know rich celebrities have privacy issues and access to many things the middle class can only dream of.

But in my naive, rose-colored glasses view, I do think that TV residents can be just as happy as any celebrity, no matter how rich.

Of course this would apply to people living anywhere, not just TV, as long as they're around people they like and doing things they enjoy. And what better place for that than TV!

On that, I agree 100%!

Likely, in general.....even more happy.

I doubt that someone who is used to having others do their shopping, etc. could ever be as happy as I am.......jumping on my golf cart and going to the store for a gallon of milk. :coolsmiley:

I don't believe it for a second. Just to start with, how in the world could adequate security ever be provided?

Wonder what the bond will be on that spread?

If the house is on two lots does the owner have to pay two amenities fees?

Do not know about Jay Leno. Former University of Michigan football coach now at ASU has a home here. Also a police officer who made nationwide news for months and months is also living here. Been told a few people also live her that do not want their names let out. Sent her to sort of blend in, and never having to leave the campus ,if you know what I mean.

You mean Rich Rod, the former UM coach?
Who is the police officer who made national headlines? Perhaps Mark Furhman who turned 61 this year and would be of retirement age?

From what I've seen of Leno, he's not one of those guys that needs too much security... He parked his cars in a museum near my house in Sylmar, CA and we used to see him driving them around town, windows down, all open, riding north on the 405 fwy waving at the tons of people staring at him. Always with a big smile on his face and really enjoying the people who were enjoying seeing his car and him. Seems like a great guy, I hope that he does move here.

As I understand it, his wife is very private though.

I doubt she would like it here.

Why not? There are many influential residents here who choose to live a private life somewhere.

Not far from TV is a private development in Ocala which is strictly private for pilots where one can park their plane next to your home. Also has a good sized runway. John Travolta has a home there, for one well-known celebrity.

Also, Nancy Lopez also has a home here in TV. Their privacy is respected by the residents.

When he does move here and you can tell me where, let me know. I would like to drive by some morning and hope to get a picture of him cutting the lawn.

I hope he leaves us in better shape than the last two colleges he has left. He can Put the kiss of death on anything he touches. I know some Michigan alumni would like to have a little chat with him it would not be very pleasant for him
