Due to medical problems we have had to cancel 2 previous LSV's.

We are now slated to come up on June 1st. and hopefully  will make it.

I have been on TOTV since July and have received some great information from this forum and "met" some very nice people. We tried to come up during a Crispers but since we booked on such short notice could not arrange that.

I know everyone has opinions but just curious - would you tell me YOUR 5 favorite:

Things we MUST SEE/DO?
Restaurants?
Pizza parlors (this should be a good one)?
Places to listen to music & have a drink?
Favorite bands that may be at the squares?

Any other info that may help. We are booked for 7 nights.

Thank you all for your help. - SEE YOU UP THERE!

Congrats on your upcoming visit. From another wannabee -- go on the trolley tour from the sales office in Lake Sumter Landing. I took it in 2010, and I think I will take it again went I come back to TV to visit in a couple of weeks as I am betting the trolley tour route is different than it was in the summer of 2010. The trolley tour only takes about 50 minutes, and the tour I was on in 2010 was narrated by a very knowledgeable resident of TV.

Favorite restaurants that I have been to: restaurant at the Nancy Lopez Country Club, Cane Garden, restaurant at Mallory Hill Country Club, City Fire, Thai Ruby, Lighthouse Point Bar & Grille and Red Sauce. I honestly have not had a bad meal (at least food wise) while visiting TV, but I am not a full time resident, just a wannabee. I still have not been to the restaurants at Arnold Palmer Country Club, Glenview Champions or Evans Prairie. I should try those 3 restaurants when I get back to TV this month.

Pizza -- I am from Chicago, so that is hard to beat, but I have had pizza at Mallory Hill Country Club -- pretty good. If Lou Malnati's in Chicago opened a couple of pizza places in The Villages they would make a lot of $$ -- just my 2 cents.

I love all the nightly entertainment at the squares, and I recommend you go to market nights (Monday and Wednesday at Spanish Springs, Tuesday and Thursday at Lake Sumter Landing) to see the vendors. Go to the Farmers Market on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm at Brownwood. Go to Katie Belles at Spanish Springs. Don't be shy about asking questions of people you meet about their experiences living in The Villages. Most people are very happy to share their experiences with you. I hope you throroughly enjoy your LSV.

My new favorite band is Uncle Bobs Rock Shop. Rocky and The Rollers are always good. Scooter the DJ is fun too. Just went to Evans Prairie this spring and had a great dinner. You will love it here.

I agree. Saw them at Brownwood while my wife was away and they were great.
Now she has to go see them too.

Try to see as many rec centers as you can. Each is differently decorated and I MEAN decorated. Each has wonderful card tables and beautifully made chairs that match the decor and check out and count the amazing chandeliers in all of the rooms.

Some say the developer is greedy but I say he has given us absolutely beautiful and expensive stuff and it isn't function, it is BEAUTY.

I love the rec centers. My favorites so far is Laurel Manor and Seabreeze but you have to check out a bunch.

You will be astonished. And check out the Lifelong Learning College entrance at the high school and pick up a brochure....just kind of look down the halls. The schools are wonderful buildings. Even if they aren't for us and our kids.

Also go over to the old side and check out the Orange Blossom pool. It is awesome and the beginning part of TV has a lot of it's own prettiness and individuality. Some homes there can be purchased for as low as 70K. Then go over to Pennecamp and take Lakeshore Drive to the end and see the house on the point that was listed at a million and a half.

Check out Harmeswood and of course check out the new villages south of 466A. There wasn't a house there less than two years ago.

The developers are amazing. As you can see I am a huge fan.

And don't forget dessert at my house. I get so busy, signal me a couple of days before you arrive and I will make a reminder invitation to some of the nice folks on this forum.

You just won't believe it...even when you see it all!
