Just read this and thought it was worth sharing. When you realize that dis-ease means away from ease, this information makes alot of sense. Over the years I have read about this but never incorporated it into our life. Now there is a way for us to do this so we are going to get mats. Remember that this is "old" understanding that may seem weird but is the base of many "traditional" eastern practices. Western medicine is starting to look at more and more of these practices which have a much longer and more successful record for handling and eliminating chronic disease.
Chronic Disease: The Biggest Killer in the U.S. (http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/05/05/chronic-disease-are-we-missing-something.aspx?e_cid=20130505_PRSNL_Art_1&utm_source=prmrsnl&utm_medium=email&utm_content=art1&utm_campaign=20130505)
This is definitely food for thought.

I read some of the link you provided and it sounds interesting, but are there any scientific studies to prove that it works to cure disease? It should start with small clinical studies and then graduate to larger studies if it shows promise. I for one will not spend any money on something that has not been proven.

I understand where you are coming from VPL. I don't need any clinical studies to confirm for me the absolute connection between healthy homeostasis and balance of the +- electrons. I tend not to wait for clinical trials when it comes to herbals and homeopathic remedies as they have a long history and that is enough or me to see if it works for me. I also have been into vibrational medicine and have worked with colors and light etc for many years so grounding is not something new to me and I they are my first go to if I feel out of sorts in any way.
There is lots of reading material to support the grounding concept but it definitely is not a mainstream approach. I just thought it was worth sharing for anyone who might be interested. With the record of success for chronic disease that alternative approaches have compared to the allopathic drug approach, it seems to be worth checking out. But if I got a broken arm, I'd be in the ER first.......... and then I'd take the homeopathics!

I have always preferred to go barefoot, nice to know I may be getting some benefits from the practice.

I see they have a disclaimer at the very bottom of the link. It says: "These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. You may be willing to take the risk of trying new products, but others may not be willing to put money down on a promise that these pads may help. It's possible they may not do anything. There's no gaurantee they will work, as far as I know.
Buyer beware! The above disclaimer was put there for a reason.

Of course disclaimers are put there as the society seems to be getting more and more inclined to sue. It doesn't mean that things may not work as stated, but it is up to the individual to evaluate for himself and take responsibility for choosing to follow an alternative route. That is also the reason that pharmaceuticals have the disclaimers on the drugs. But there is a much longer history for many alternative approaches and "death" isn't usually a side effect, as seen in many of the drug disclaimers.
Big Pharma has lobbied to make it almost impossible for many herbal and homeopathic companies to run double blind studies due to costs and many other hoops. I feel it is a shame to deprive people of remedies for many chronic diseases which are cheaper and often much more effective with less side effects if any.
Looks like we will have to agree to disagree on this on. Keep well.

lightworker888 - if your personal evaluation of the pad shows that it is not sufficient for your needs and/or does not meet your expectations - you can always hold one of those famous villages yard sales and sell it there! ;)

I'm not totally against the concept of earthing, just skeptical that the mats will work as expected. If the mats have not been approved by the FDA, it means that the seller can't make any claims for curing any disease. And, to confuse things further, there may be a placebo effect, whereby 40 to 50% of people may feel some initial relief.
But just to show you i'm keeping an open mind, I have a book on order titled "Earthing Book" by Steve Sinatra.
