If you want to buy probably the best built home in The Villages on over an acre of land, here's your chance. According to property records, Gary Morse and his late wife, Sharon, lived here throughout the 1990's.
Check out the pool. It looks like a hotel pool. And you get your own guest cottage.

I wonder what the yearly property taxes will be at the price it's selling for.

There are no names prior to 2004.(??)
And just type in 8 Hickory
Sometimes that site won't take more than the first part of the street name.

Hickory Hammock works as well. After clicking on retrieve tax records, go to the very bottom and click on Prior Years Payment History, and it takes you all the way back to 1991.
Interesting that the taxes were almost $5000 a few years ago and now are down to under $3500, and there is no bond payment listed on the tax bill.

OK.....that's funny as heck!!!!! :1rotfl:

Been there many times years ago. It used to have a wine cellar in the garage.
It's about 3500 sf, as I recall. Very nice place.
The private pool in the compound is for all "Hickory Heads" to use, but not you. :police:

Skip. YOU always know the inside scoop. Was it Harold's home, or Gary's? There is no previous owner listed on Sumterpa.com

Is it just me or does this home seem to be underpriced at $768K?
Compared to other premier homes that I see for sale it seems to have a lot more to offer, but priced much, much less.

8 Hickory Head Hammock, The Villages, FL 32159 (MLS# G4694400) - The Villages FL Real Estate - FloridaMoves.com (http://www.floridamoves.com/property/details/1347558/MLS-G4694400/8-Hickory-Head-Hammock-The-Villages-FL-32159.aspx?SearchID=15900283&RowNum=1&StateID=14&RegionID=0&IsRegularPS=True&IsSold=False)
This listing has better photos, IMO, and also gives the room sizes for those prospective buyers out there.

Jan...THIS IS FUN. I love to look at the "different" houses in TV. There are some but not many. I think the canopy on the bed is a little...over the top and I think the newer and smaller homes have prettier bathrooms, but that kitchen with all of the windows seemed so welcoming. BUT...I like lighter tile and cherry cabinets. So. I am picky.

i'm sorta with you. patty55! i really don't want/need that much house any more, either. i do wish there would be a yard sale, though - i could use that small cabinet in the bathroom in pic #10! ;)

That chest is the only thing I liked-LOL. I thought the entire thing looked common. Really hated the front. I wonder what it looked like when the Morse family owned it.

It was Gary's. Harold lived down the block, across the street until he died.
Gary transferred the house to The Villages before it was sold in 2000.

Anyone find it odd it's listed by Coldwell Banker instead of the Villages sales people?

The house is actually listed with Realty Executives at The Villages. I just picked it up off of the Coldwell Banker website because they have the best photos.

The folks who now own the house aren't the Morses.
