We are moving in permanently in a little over a week. We are bringing Dylan, an 11 year old English Cocker Spaniel. I just took him for his wellness care and the Vet says that while he is in generally good health, (he has an irregular heartbeat and he is mostly deaf) we should line up a vet right away so that someone we feel comfortable with has his records in case of an emergency. Does anyone have a Vet that you recommend, preferably one that is good with older dogs and doesn't overdo it with excessive tests and treatments...

I take my Cocker to Village Vet on 441. Dr Munsel LOVES Cockers and is very good. He really knows his stuff. Your baby is so adorable. he has that typical "I didn't do it" Cocker face!

We like Dr. T. Porter in Wildwood and have found him compassionate with older animals. He is more of an "old fashioned" type vet.
We also use Buffalo Ridge Animal Hospital in The Villages (just north of CR 466). They have more of a "high tech" facility and they offer an emergency service nights and weekends. For your peace of mind, it might make sense for you to register with them.

Be sure to bring all of Dylan's records from the vet and any current x-rays if available. These will help any vet to understand Dylan's status.
It really helped when I brought Bart down to TV.

Mulberry Grove Animal Hospital on SR 42. Extremely caring, very knowledgeable and will do everything they can for your animals. They are the best I have had in years and are so glad we found them.
