Both Atlantis car wash and the Villages car wash have cars lined up waiting to go through the car wash. I'm glad that my misery can bring others happiness!

I arrive in TV on Thursday afternoon (that is if the plane leaves Chicago on time LOL). This will be my earliest visit to TV. I don't think I have seen a love bug on previous visits to TV which have been in June, July and October. Am in for a treat?

the lovebug season is usually May and Sept. They won't bother you much unless you're driving fast on a thruway. Then they plaster your windshield and front of your car. They also like to crawl on you if you're sitting outside in the sun.

Don't rent a white car. They seem to love white.

Oh, great. We own a white car.
Guess we should buy some "Jimbo Bug-Off" bug spray he's developing. I'll wait till he has a "Buy 1, Get 2 Free" sale. I wonder what the 1st bottle will cost? <g>

When you hit a swarm of love bugs at 70 MPH the color of your vehicle makes no difference.

The truth is that a black car has as many lovebug hits but because th love bugs are black in color they just seem to blend in with the car's paint

These bugs can damage your car's paint job. http://chemistry.about.com/b/2012/05/19/do-lovebugs-ruin-your-car.htm

:1rotfl:I agree about it doesn't make any difference when your going 70 that they don't care what color your car is but I was talking about when it sits in the driveway they swarm all over a white car. My neighbor has a white car and sometimes she can't get into it because they are all over it yet I have a silver car and hardly any love bugs are around it.or could it be I drive an American car Tee Hee

Just get a box of Bounce fabric softener sheets and you will be all set. Hose down the car to get the big chunks off then dampen the fabric sheet and wipe the rest of the car down. You may need to use more than one sheet to get the job done. Then just wash the car as you normally would and you are all set.
One trip to TV during LB season and I now use Bounce every time I wash my car to get all the bugs and crud off the car.

PS I will be hitting The Pine Club on Thursday evening for a good steak. Cannot go to Dayton without a trip to The Pine Club.

We were in FL last week and the love bugs on my white car were horrible. During the drive back north, around VA, we pulled into a rest stop and a lady in the car next to us was using paper towels and windex to clean the windows. She too had come from FL and she said they spray "pam" or a non stick aerosol on the car (not on the windows) prior to traveling and the bugs come off easier.
When we were driving to the beach you coudl hear ting, ting, ting, all of the bugs hitting the car. It was like being in a heavy rain except instead of rain drops it was love bugs.

They seem to like the color of my house as I seem to get more than some of my neighbors.
I have also observed a row of parked cars and one was white and they were swarming all over it and ignoring the others.
Cleaning them off as soon as possible makes the job less difficult and minimizes, or even prevents, damage to the paint.

Spray car wax is what my hubby uses. Spray the nose of the car with wax and when you have collected enough bugs, just wipe them off and reapply the spray wax.
They do like light colors, especially white.
While driving the highway, pick a large tractor trailer to follow and don't pass it. Drastically cuts the number of bugs on your car.
