In the past couple of months I have been having a problem with my GE icemaker. I like cubed ice but it keeps giving me crushed ice. This happened one time before and I solved it by emptying the ice tray. However, this time that didn't work. I completely emptied the tray but am still getting crushed ice. I also selected crushed ice and then cubed ice but that didn't do anything. Anyone know of a fix for this?

Thanx

John

I've had several problems with my GE refrigerator. Could be mechanical or electrical, I've had both.I had MD Appliance Service ( 352) 591-1970 do the service each time. Very reasonable and honest, they have one technician that stays exclusively in TV who knows the GE appliances very well. Give them a call.

might try unplugging and then plugging in again to reboot (like computer) worked for me when I had a problem

So is the ice maker producing crushed ice into the bin in the freezer? Or are there cubes in the bin but no matter which button you push, it produces crushed ice out the chute?

That's right. Cubes in the bin.

Sorry to say that I have never had a through-the-freezer-door ice dispenser/crusher that did not eventually fail, whether GE or another brand....
