Are you "allowed" or has anyone ever screened in their front entry?
It seems like a good size but I wouldn't sit out there unscreened.
Wondering if this would be approved.

Yes it is allowed, but ask Mother May I first to ARC.

I have seen many front entrys screened, but an not quite sure why this is done. Other than love bugs twice a year we really don't have flying insects. Is it to give it more of a room feeling???

We screened in our front entry and love it. It's been three years. I have a door bell outside on house so that we can keep that area locked. No one just walking up to front door. Keeps the bugs down and I have some plants in pots out there.

It could very well be the last thing mentioned. My first home here had just had the front (fairly large) screened and furnished with four chairs, two small tables, some silk flowers, and so on when the sellers sold the house. They left it furnished when they moved out, and though it was rarely used, it did create the sense of a room between the great outdoors and the inside of the house.

We had our Gardenia screened in by T&D Enclosures last November at a cost of $1156.25 and that included a custom image on the screen door. Besides the usual benefits, it also gives an extra measure of security in case one of our cats scamper out the front door when someone is at the door or a worker comes in and out like yesterday when we had all our windows washed inside and out! BTW, T&D took care of everything in getting the ARC approval.

I love this idea and I too bought a Gardenia so the idea of an extra measure to keep my pups in is amazing. Not an awful price either.

I too have had my front entry screened in. Quality Screens who advertise on this site did an outstanding job at a price of $800.
Now I have a sliding screen door for sale. If anyone is interested please PM me.

I sit on my non-screened front porch frequently and have never had an issue with bugs whatsoever and it always amazes me since we are basically located in a Florida swamp where you would think there would be all kinds of bugs. I could see however that screening would add more livable area for pets and an added sense of security.

We had ours screened in because we had a couple cats who loved to lay out in the sun in our screened in porch.

Your house looks great and LOVE the screened in front.
Great landscaping job too!
