Update....So I don't know what to say here.....my buddy arranged a golf game in Gainesville and as We pulled out we didnt see or hear our friend. We kinda laughed surmising he must have read TOTV and took a hint. Well the Mrs. Calls and he was rushed to hospital after we left not in good shape. I hope we get to see him again.
We have a new neighbor for about two weeks now who likes to clean his driveway with a electric blower at first light every day Sundays included. The neighborhood "mayor" was sent in to talk with him but he states he has medical condition where he can't get hot thus early morning activities. Are there restrictions on noise before or after hours? If so what are times? How about restrictions on everyday as once a week is annoying but we could live with it.

Any noise that is bothering you can be called to the local police department. However--really? Why not just explain to your neighbor what is going on, that you are bothered by the noise. Maybe he will stop the early times and do activities after the sun goes down?
Good Luck!

Or you could ask to borrow his blower to do your driveway and accidentally run it over with your car.

Very insensitive of this neighbor. Maybe he should use a broom instead of the blow job.

maybe it needs to be clean enough to eat on..not sure what would cause you to need to blow off your drive everyday, i am with you OP why the need, and if heat bothers you that much why move to flordia
Maybe he will settle down after living in TV for a while. I hope so for your sake. That really sucks....I mean blows.

wondering what time the lawn people start in the neighborhood and how many days a week they are there. seems to me that in my neighborhood lawns are done every day of the week but sunday any time between sunup and sundown.
if it is really unbearable, perhaps each neighbor can take a turn at cleaning the man's driveway for him at a time deemed reasonable.

I can't understand what needs to be blow off f a driveway every day Does he have some live oaks or something that sheds onto his driveway o a daily basis?
Sounds like a control freak problem.

Most of the lawn companies in our neighborhood seem to start their machinery at 8 AM. I'm a night hawk. I'm retired and I don't want to ever get up early again. :mornincoffee:
I find ear plugs are a good solution.

How early?? Really should of posted time of the activity??? Some people 11 AM is early.... I would think after 8:00 Am would be to unreasonable. Now if it's the crack of dawn then Most will consider that too early including myself being sleeping for me 6:00am, But I have worked for 50 years or more of manual labor where expected to be in to work early and on time... I never do anything before 8:00am or after 9:30 PM around the house and I don't have property owners few feet away.. Usually 8:00am or after when commerical lawn maintenance are out and about.....

I like the idea of running over the blowers with a truck. Seriously though that is beyond rude.

Another "seriously" catagorical question.... your neighborhood has a designated "Mayor"??

Perhaps you should invite 'Keepingitreal's' neighbor's band to come for practice one of these bright shiny mornings!

I'm in total agreement. njbchbum. You posted exactly what I was thinking. I'm sorry we haven't gotten together yet. Let me know when you are back in town.
If his blower bothers you, be glad you don't live on a golf course. We do and the maintenance people are out there at 5:30 a.m.

The lawn people in our neighborhood do not show up at 8 am, and are gone by 4 or 5 pm. The only people who show up before 8 are the garbage trucks.
My guess is volunteering to blow this guy's driveway will not work... he likes to blow his own driveway, and nobody's going to tell him when to do it. There are a lot of people to whom age brings arrogance. Maybe a boom box aimed at his bedroom window after midnight as an example of how his self-centeredness affects others.

We've had yard crews in our neighborhood begin at 7:30. So guess this depends on what you "deem" at the "crack of dawn". Have you expressed any concerns to him in person?? You could joke about it with him the 1st time, if it continues go to him again in person. Calling in a 3rd party ie :Village Watch, the sheriff or whomever might cause bad feelings for a long period of time. What battle lines do you want to draw??

This is a tough one. That blower would not bother me in the least, but I can understand why for some it would be horrible. I wish you the best in finding a solution.

Check the county ordinances, doubt if there is one that covers it though. I know for sure Lady lake Police follow the County ordinances, as the town of Lady Lake has no noise ordinance

Apparently they have tried talking to him in person, via the neighborhood "mayor." Didn't work.

Does this neighbor have a wife or anyone living with him? After getting no where speaking to him, perhaps someone could speak to that person in private. It sounds like he could have mental issues, ie early Alzheimer's or other dementia.

Just take a walk over and tell him what you just wrote on here. Ask him if he could blow the driveway when it gets cooler in the evening. Most normal people will understand. If not , good luck.

Move to a golf course house and you'll soon find that eventually you don't even hear the parade of mowers rolling by at 6 AM, Sunday's included. Complaining to the "Neighborhood Mayor" makes it sound like a not so fun neighborhood.

Please let us know how he's doing and if he pulls through. If so, perhaps his early morning blowing noise won't be as annoying.
