Well, here we go again... For the past couple of weeks I've been picking up empty plastic bottles of alcohol - namely vodka and whiskey. We had a lull for a month (or he/she picked a new spot to dump) - but here we go again.

The last time I posted, there were those who said - those darn snow birds - well, they are gone and he/she is still here. They obviously have a serious drinking problem to be tossing them out on the sidewalks. The favorite spot in on the right hand side of Belvediere (Bonnybrook Gate) just before the gate.

I hope the Sumter Sheriff's department is monitoring this site and takes action again. I think they caught him/her once a few months ago - but he/she is back at it again.

Haven't decided if I'll keep picking them up or just leaving them to litter our beautiful neighborhood.

To the drunk = please get help.. you need it on so many levels.

Thanks for picking them up when you see them. It's the best we can do.

People use Belvedere as a short cut to cross from 466 to Buena Vista and back again. So the culprit may not be a resident?

Wow. That is a LOT of booze. One thing to throw pop bottles. This person is going to etch out his liver and leave this world if he keeps it up.

Long term, the problem will take care of itself.

I'm going to bet that it's a resident. Other neighbors in Ashland and Lynnhaven have had the same problem on side streets. This is someone who lives in one of the 4 villages in our area. They have a very serious drinking problem... and they drink cheap booze... Skols Vodka (never heard of it) and every cheap, rot gut gin and whiskey... This person drinks to get drunk. Let's hope they don't solve their problem by colliding with one of us.

If this person lives in the area, their behavior will show in other ways---throwing the empties along side the trail is just a tempest in a teapot. I agree that long term this will cease to be a problem-----but currently very frustrating. Whoever, they do need help.

I rented over there May thru November last year before moving into our new house and I remember seeing empties being along side the trails while on my morning walks.
