I know there are companies out there that do this for you, but I want to be able to clean my own grout. Anyone out there know of a process or product that works? We have light grout (light taupe) and light tile. I use a steam mop to clean the floor but the grout doesn't come clean.

This is the best product we've found by far.
Have to buy it on line or Ocala.

We learned that the Shark steam cleaner was the worse thing ever invented for cleaning grout. It only made things worse. After having all of our tile floors professionally cleaned we were told to get rid of The Shark and just use a mop with some vinegar added to the water and to change the water often.

I rarely endorse a product, but you might like to check out a product called GroutShields. Their website is Best Grout Sealer, Best Grout Cleaner, Grout Color Seal | Grout Shield (http://www.groutshields.com)
I have bought and used this product with great success. It was amazing.

I have been using Magic Grout and Tile Cleaner for years. It works great on soap scum and cleans shower glass too. I would not spray it directly on any metal surfaces. For the metal areas I spray it on the rag, wipe and rinse . I buy it at Lowes and or Home Depot.

Susie - that's the same formula I have used for years. Works great and it's cheap.

But after you get it clean, seal it. Very easy to do.

are there reasons not to seal? I've read that it's not easy to clean animal urine scent from sealed grout? I dunno....

When we moved here 9 years ago, we were told the tile was sealed but the grout wasn't. Never sealed it. How do you do it without getting on your knees and using a toothbrush? Would you need 2 coats?

If It's sealed animal urine wouldn't get into it?????
U can get sealer with a built in brush, go to HD or Lowes and look around it is so simple.....

Thank you so much for your suggestion!! I have tried many products and decided to order the Finazzle from their website. I have light taupe grout so I ordered the Finazzle for colored grout. Two bottles for $19.99. It is awesome! Spray it on liberally and scrub with a brush and wipe off. It is amazing. Nothing else I've tried has even come close. My grout is as clean as it was when it was new! I will definitely seal it with a clear sealer once this process is done. Thank you again for the suggestion and for helping me with this!!:bigbow::bigbow:
