I heard a lot of previous good info on Trojan Batteries for Golf Carts.
Are they still considered the best??
We are considering 8-6 volt batteries for my Par Car.

If you go to the EZ Go Forum on buggies unlimited site there is an excellant post on batteries including the different Trogans... with my untrained eyes the Trojan seemed to have the best performance on the post.

If you get a definitive answer on this one you could be the first. From what I read the big three are:
Trojan
Crown
US Battery
I have always used Trojan batteries for no other reason than I have always read they are a quality battery and when I started buying batteries, my Dad managed cart fleets at a golf course so had many technical contacts at Trojan.
I have read that a cart mechanic I respect has seen issues in recent years with Trojan under warranty and has switched to Crown. I have not talked to him, but it may be worth a call for you for specifics. He should be in the paper under c_a_r_t_f_i_x_e_r.
I would also ask Battery Boys, Frank (TOTV) and Spano if they see a brand failing under warranty or under achieving.
From my own experience, I have a set of 8-6v T105s in my Club Car that are 3 years and 3 months old. I just ran them 47 miles and had 48 volts left in the pack.
It would be hard for me to move away from Trojan without first talking to folks who sell and support batteries for a living telling me why I should.
PS. Thank you for using electric!

If you do switch from the original batteries, whether US or Interstates, don't forget to switch over the Algorithm of the charger. US and Interstate are Algorithm #11, and Trojan is Algorithm #1.
How about the Crown batteries? What is this algorithm of which you speak?

The Algorithm can also play into your favor and can help save the batteries. Some batteries are prone to boiling the water out as they get older, a simple change of the algorithm can help to extend the life of the batteries if caught early enough.
