Word is the ParCar is the best electric (48volt) and can go for 60 plus miles.
Why should I NOT buy this brand? Please talk me out of this or into this.

When they work, they are great. When they don't, good luck. I know people who have replaced the charger and motor and still have problems. Few of the golf cart repair guys will touch them. You'll get half the value if you trade them in for another cart.

I know people who love them and won't have anything but a ParCar. I know others who hate them and would get rid of them in a heartbeat if they wouldn't lose so much money. Personally, I wouldn't own one unless they paid me, just not worth worrying about something going wrong. Yamahas, Club Cars, EZGos, just take a licking and keep on ticking. ParCars are prima donnas and I've never liked prima donnas.

One of our golf scramble regulars has a Par Car and is always puttering along at the back of the line - cannot maintain speed going up hill. After he owned it only a few months he regularly had to go home in reverse because forward wouldn't work. Took many calls to the dealer to get this repaired. Wouldn't touch one with a 10 foot pole.

I love my ParCar, bought 2007 ParCar two years ago.

No problems with range. Goes 20 mph. No maintenance issues.

I would buy another without reservation.

Great cart as proven by all of them running around.

I love my parcar but if you plan on driving faster then the legal 20 mph this is not the cart for you. I have heard from other parcar owners that they cannot find anyone to up the governor over 20 mph and parcar won't do it as they do not want to be responsible...I am perfectly happy letting all those speed demons pass me but I have had a few close calls when they can't make it around me as quickly as they think they can !!! They come to mey home every 6 months to service it and no problem at all and I love the adjustable bucket seats and I have seat belts also. My husband has had 2 electrical problem with his new yamaha so I believe that although they are expensive they may all have problems !!!

it's called maintenance. most people fail majorly and dont understand. it is a must "to do" on ParCars, they are high priority... most drive them home, park it, and plug it in, forgetting all the check overs required evey so many hours..

We love ours. It's a 2011 model purchased 9/10. If you and your spouse or sig.other are different sizes, you can't beat the adjustable bucket seats. We have it serviced every 6mos as recommended. It is done at our house. We had trouble with the maintenance free batteries (they no longer sell those and we went thru 3 sets) and they replaced them with the reg batteries and we have had no problems since. Love our ParCar and get lots of compliments. We have people on our street with other brands and all brands can have problems if you don't do maintenance.

I purchased a 2008 in 2010 and changed the batteries and have had no problems since then. I was invited to the assembly facility in Leesburg to get a understanding of the carts features. they also gave in a users manual and was treated if I bought a new cart. by the way I bought it at The villages Cart shop in Colony Plaza!
Use it daily and have consistently got 40+ miles per charge. Regular maintenance is important as well as keeping the water level up. Can get 23 mph but keep it at legal. Adjustable seats are great as is sitting higher than most other carts. The ride is good with properly inflated tires and you can not beat the stability of the cart! As a plus it is manufactured in WI with mostly US parts.

The 2 problems I see with the ParCar product is:
1. You are wedded to the local dealer for service. Most independents will not work on ParCar products . I 've been told that ParCar sells its parts retail to everyone including professional independent repair people, so most do not stock a supply of the overly expensive parts and thus won't be bothered to service them, and if they need parts they have to drive over to the Leesburg shop and hope they have them in stock. Also as noted in several posts above, if you have a lemon there is no other place to have a second go at it to have it correctly fixed. The local dealer rules, period!!
2. Over the years I have seen several ParCars scrape the curved portion of the tunnel roofs in the older tunnels north of HY 466; especially the ones near Lopez. The extra height of ParCars apparently was not considered when building the earlier tunnels. My older ParCar-owner neighbor told me that he tries to steer more to the middle of certain tunnels. (ever wonder where all those scrape marks came from on the roofs of the tunnels? I've never seen a Yamaha, or Club Car, or EzGo come close to scraping the roof.)

We have a 2007 Par Car and it goes the legal limit just fine. We have new batteries which are easy to maintain and what I love best are the adjustable bucket seats and seat belts.
