I had to go in this morning for a procedure. I didn't quite know what to expect having herd so many horror stories on this forum.
I am please to report that everything went well and everyone from the front desk receptionist to the nurses and technicians and doctors were very pleasant, professional and good at their jobs.
I've in some of the world renown hospitals in Boston and can you that this hospital seemed very bit as good based on my experience.
I haven't had to use the emergency room and I've heard it can be bad, but I couldn't have been happier with my experience today.

I was very happy to read this post. I am going into the Villages hospital in 10 days and have been wondering how it was going to go. I am from Boston as well and spoiled by all of the positive experiences I have had there so I feel good about heading over to the Villages hospital now. Thanks for posting.

Well, I had a back operation at Mass General, several orthopedic procedures at New England Baptist, cardiology procedures at Beth Israel Deaconess. My wife was treated at Dana Farber and Brigham and Womens. The Villages hospital stacked up well against all of them.

My husband had three encounters with TVRH for stents and AAA surgery and had no complaints.........

I had 2 surgeries there. One was a day surgery the other was a total knee replacement. Both times the service was outstanding. The nursing staff was top notch. The Hospital is very clean, the PT staff was spot on and believe it or not the food was good. As for the ER I haven't had the need to use it. I go to an Urgent Care unless it's a TRUE emergency. JMO

Thanks for the positive posts - looks like you can go there as long as it's not an emergency!

Had an out-patient procedure that went very well. Had my 86yo father at emergency that went very bad. When Doctors & Hospitals income depends mostly on Medicare payments you are not going to best treatment all the time.

Glad everything went well for you. I had planned surgery there last July and was very pleased with staff and hospital. I also have dealt with Boston hospitals. Thought The Villages Hospital a much nicer experience.

That's possibly because a lot of people who should be going to urgent care are going to the ER.

I fell while tap dancing and cracked my elbow. TVRH had me in & out in 2 1/2 hours which I felt was a reasonable time Now if I could just tap dance better I would be good to go!
