Has anyone had Nissen Fundoplication surgery for acid reflux? I would like to know what kind of results you had. You can Private Message me, if you like.

I have acid reflux and take Nexium, it has completely taken care of the problem. I would assume you've tried all non surgical alternatives.

I had the procedure over 15 years ago. I would say it helped me a lot but i would not call it a cure. I still take a proton pump inhibitor. I still get some reflux. I still sleep with my head elevated by a wedge pillow. But overall my symptoms have not worsened for a very long time.

I had this procedure in 1996 after having acid reflux for 20+ yrs. I have had no acid reflux and take no meds. I had it done at the Cleveland Clinic.

Sorry not to have any advice for you, GeoGeo -- I haven't had surgery and my heartburn is well controlled with OTC proton pump inhibitors.
I have a question of my own on the subject, though. Has anyone with chronic heartburn/GERD had the test for H. pylori, and if so, what were the results? Did antibiotic treatment help?
