Isn't that State Rt 44 and the south side? Which means the bowling alley wouldn't be golf cart accessible and outside of TV.

I was talking to the manager for the restaurant side of Fiesta Bowl Friday afternoon. He told me there are no current plans for a bowling alley at Brownwood. He said they would need about 24 acres to build a bowling alley because of the parking lots. The impact fees for the state of Florida, according to this man, would be over $800,000. That doesn't include any other costs. He also said the bowling alley that is being built is owned by a man named Patel (sp?)who owns one of the hotels. I can't remember which hotel.

24 acres?? That's over a million square feet!!

Cowboys stadium in Dallas covers approx. 73 acres. Doubt that a single bowling alley w/parking would take up about a third as much as that monstrous facility.

Is bowling this popular in TV, to support a third alley?

That $800,000 in impact fees seems a tad high also.

A third bowling facility will fill up just like the two existing places.

When you go on the trolley tour they say the #1 sport in the villages is bowling. It's always seemed hard to believe when you think of golf and all but that's what they say!

I too remember that. I don't know what "funny math" they use to come to the conclusion that more TV residents bowl than play golf but it just ain't so.

#1 Bowling
#2 Softball
#3 Golf
This is based on the trolley if I remember right! Please set the record straight so that we are informed! Thanks!

I took the Trolley Tour last month when I was in TV just to see how different was the route as compared to when I took the Trolley Tour in 2010, and the person narrating the tour last month said that bowling is the #1 sport in The Villages which surprised me.

Based on this information, it's unfortunate that the developer could never find room to build another bowling alley. No additional bowling alleys were ever built after 2000 when the population was around 20,000.

Bowling may be number one based on the number of games played. Most bowlers I know bowl multiple games in one visit. A round of golf takes 4-5 hours.
