Paula Deens interview with Matt this morning was difficult to watch. Since my wife and i have been to her resturant many many times, stood in line, enjoyed the great food, talked to Paula, and many of her staff...If you have been to her resturant you know the staff...Most have been there since the begining...I don't see the staff as someone of color, I see them as someone who loves their job, speaks of what food is their fav, and asks do you know the boys are here did you get to meet them....I think if you were a fan you will always eat at lady and sons, after all great food, good service and a place that feels like you are eating with family..just my thoughts but at least i have real experience...I am not perfect and have made mistakes in my life...Paula has made hers...she is from the south she is strong and had many times her life that she was not in a good place...hoping she will come back to her funny, caring self

What I thought was interesting about the interview, Paula obviously had a script to get a particular message out to people (now thats a surprise??) but Matt Lauer keep bringing her back to the point by asking her Paula, you are a business person, a BIG business responsible for a number of brands that carry your name. Then he asked her as your boss would you fire yourself??( Interesting question) She said NO but admitted to making mistakes but at one point during the intereview she recanted some the things she allegedy said and this caught matt Lauer off guard). At the conclusion I was waiting to see Matt Lauer extend his hand or offer her some comfort. But he did not...he was obviously staying his distance. I personally think the cutesy southern charm, sobbing on TV will only go so far. I would be surprised if QVC does not drop her after

Does anyone have a link to what others think of the interview?

I personally thought some of it was a bit much. 2 times she made a statement that I thought was way too much. Can't remember the exact wording but something like, if you have never said anything that hurt someone, hit me with a big rock / boulder & kill me !
I also think it's a shame to see all of this happen when it was many years ago.

She is fighting for her financial life. That is about it. I grew up in the south, in fact the same state she did. She should at this stage in her life already knew what was right from wrong. She needs to just shut up and disappear at this point.

I watched that interview. I think it was overkill by Paula. She got to the point that she was unbelievable. She quickly brushed over the fact that if people drop her and her brand she would lose a lot of money. She is a business woman. However, it is beyond me how someone can be called put on something they said so many years ago. Haven't we all said things we wish we didn't say?? Just on today's Zimmerman trial, it was testified that Trayvon Martin called George Zimmerman the "N" word on several occasions while on the phone to his lady friend while walking to the store. Why aren't people outraged over that?? I think this is a double standard.
