Musicman Ed and I are trying to organize a block party for the new Hillsborough area as I believe we now have 30 residents. We will furnish the entertainment.

Where I come from (Long Island, NY) basically the street is closed to traffic, everyone on the block gets together chips in for food drink etc. and has a party! Sometimes a DJ is hired, entertainment for the kids is conjured up etc.

Recently though, (don't really like it this way but...) each homeowner has his own BBQ (or whatever) by his/her house and music and entertainment are chipped in for and located for everyone to enjoy.

Can be a lot of fun !

what is a block party, exactly?

A block party is just a get together of neighbors out in front of someone's home for fellowship for a couple of hours. In this case, it will be in front of our home at 3815 Infinity Run. We are entertainers and will provide music, karaoke and comedy. You bring a chair and your cooler of goodies.

Musicman Ed will be setting up all our equipment....he is a master at the mixing board and I'm a master at mixing him up. LOL I will ask him about the drums but I don't think we will have room in the driveway for anything else.

Drums in car vs wife out of car.....now that's a discussion I would not want to get into. (I know you are kidding though)

I have an unrelated question that I'm sure you've all had and maybe you can help me solve it quickly. I hope you don't mind me posting it on this forum but so far this is the only one I see from our area. We want to hire someone to take care of our lawn. Does anyone have a service they would recommend. My guess is that it would be better if they were already in the area doing other lawns so I'd love to go with a service others are already using.

So what happened to the people from Hillsborough? Looks like the folks from Gilchrist are having way more fun. We close on the 24th and will be looking for the people dancing in the streets (around all the construction equipment, of course). Can't wait to see what has been completed since we were there is early June. Any new eateries in Brownwood?
