I think I remember a store in Summerfield that retails both directv and dish. Supposedly they were not partial to either and would give an unbiased opinion. Any help would be appreciated. Jimmie

You'll get a discount if you order DirecTV off the internet. Very easy process.

I've had Directv since it first came out. Love it. If you go with them mention my account # 000147738 and we both get $100.

Having Direct TV installed in the morning. Since my daughter referred me they gave her 10.00 and me additional 10.00 off for 10 months. Total for 4 rooms plus Genie to go is $56.00 month. Got the 205 channel package plus NFL network free first year

We switched to DIRECT T.V. from Comcast (up here in Vermont) and love Direct TV.
Even with our winter storms, we rarely lose our satellite......

However, we were wondering how often we might lose the "signal" once we move to Florida with even more thunderstorms than we've been having up north????????

Hubby was wondering if we should switch back to Comcast in The Villages?????

Or is Direct TV still good, irregardless of the storms?

Thanks in advance for any opinions.............

I have DirectTV and love it.. I do lose the signal in thunderstorms but I record most of my programming so I just switch over to the DVR when that happens. I have had it for 8 years between Alaska and The Villages, very happy.

I just signed up for DirecTV. I hear that you might lose the HD signal for a bit when it storms, but that you can just switch to non-HD and the signal is fine...with the HD signal returning after not-too-long.

Tobin Satellite at the Marion Market sells Dish and Direct TV.
Has anyone dealt with them?
