Hi, we have a contract on a house in SD that we purchased from looking at pictures here on TV website. We visited TV in April so we familiar with the community. But we didn't visit the village of SD. I'm praying that it is a nice subdivision as most I've seen there are. Any comments on SD would be most welcomed. We will be permanent residents as of August 10th if all goes well :pepper2: and we look forward to meeting our new neighbors!

Welcome ! You'll love Santo Domingo. It's an older neighborhood so it has lots of mature trees. It's close to Spanish Springs Town Square. There really are no bad neighborhoods in The Villages.

You actually bought a house that you never saw in person in a neighborhood you never visited?

Wouldn't you be upset to find "surprises" like high tension lines very closeby or that the next door neighbors have a large pet cemetery in their backyard? Those were actually two things we found at a house that our Villages agent had picked out as a potential home for us!

Best of luck to you.

Buggy, sorry for your bad experience! I actually found this house myself and yes I trust my agent! I didn't think you could have cemetery or fences for that matter in a yard in TV?! And I did inquire as to unusual items I might need to be aware of! Pet cemetery...curious...what village was that in?

I just moved into Santo Domingo a month ago and absolute love it. It is close to everything that you need or would want. Have met just about all the neighbors on my street and already have had one dinner invitation.

Here's a link to the GIS map for Aquino Lane. Looks like a nice small residential street.
Sumter County Property Appraiser (http://www.sumterpa.com/gis/)

Sorry, the link didn't stay on Aquino Lane.Just use the link, type Aquino in the Street field, hit enter. It will give you all the addresses on Aquino Lane. Then just hit GIS map.

We closed Thursday and are on Cardona Way. Santo Domingo is a great area and as already stated you are close to everything. I walked twice to Spanish Springs just for exercise. You made a good choice
