We are snow flakes, living in the Villages 28 wks. & the balance of the year in Wisconsin.
A friend of mine e mailed me about an article he read in the latest Fortune magazine.
Since we're Fl. residents he said that there is an advantage in changing your address to a low tax state like Fl. for your Wills & Trusts & bank accts.
We have a Citizen bank checking acct. BUT the bulk of our money is in an internet bank (ING).
Do you think I should go to a lawyer to change my trust address from Wis. TO Fl.??????????????????????????????
Thanking you for any input & advise in advance.

You might want to go to an elder attorney and discuss how your estate would be handled with assets in two states and a resident of ???.

The Wisconsin lawyer will not know what FL law is. You should contact a lawyer here (the 1st visit isn't a charge) and talk to them about it. They can then point you in which direction to go. We have friends who are from WI but have a place here. They're keeping their trust up there BUT they also have a house there and I think it's their primary residence. It can be a bit more complicated with a trust.

I would suggest getting an opinion and advice from a professional, not an internet forum on something as important as a trust.

We are in the similar situation, however, we are official FL residents and had the trust list the FL home as our official address. Opened a safety deposit box and changed the billing address on the credit cards to FL, as well as registered to vote and registered the car and got FL insurance. I also agree that everyone's situation is different and I would get advice from a FL attorney who deals with trusts to get the final answer.

Anyone have any suggestions of the names of TV attorneys that do this?
