Venting............
Hotmail/ now Outlook is down this morning driving me nuts as I am trying to get stuff done. Microsoft has three separate email server teams the sooner they merge them under the exchange team (the one that handles the business clients) the better in my opinion.
OK I have a slanted view as I know people who work that team but they have a much better record than the Hotmail team which was recently rebranded outlook.
When I worked we had exchange and it rarely had a problem and they installed the patches and upgrades in the middle of the night so it didn't hurt business. They have a team including a senior programmer on call 24/ 7 to fix outages and real programmers specializing in test right here in Seattle not some tech in who knows where.
People in the tech services of companies overseas are I find task oriented not result oriented and if they can shift the problem to another person or group while having checked off the I addressed it box (how they get paid usually) they will so problems bounce around each person saying not my area. This way of thinking is bleeding into US companies and creating a customer service nightmare.
