3 years ago today on a rainy day, we pulled into TV with both cars loaded, and one very unhappy Maggie cat. The day before, we closed on our home in IL and headed for TV. Our furniture was in storage, we didn't know if we would buy or build. We just knew that we wanted this to be our new forever home.

Our friends and family thought we were nuts. We had only been here for 3 days that March. We went back, sold most things, sold the house, and left the only town we had lived in after college.

Almost every day, we pat ourselves on the back for our decision. We have met so many dear people, some we now call friends. We are both more active and involved in different things than we thought possible.

I guess this is for all of you future newbies, come on down. You won't regret it...except perhaps not getting rid of more of your "stuff" before you move.

Well said, Springfield. We've been here almost 7 years and still eagerly look forward to the beginning of each new day.

I couldn't have designed a better retirement life for myself.... climate, activities, beauty of this community, character of our fellow residents, and ease of getting around by golf cart to name a few factors.

Glad it worked out for you. Works for me too!!!!

They did an excellent job building this place. We have been here one and a half years now, stopped in on our way by, 2 days later bought, best thing we ever did.

Three years and 4 days ago we drove off the auto train with our car stuffed to the roof. In April we were here for the LS visit and signed the paperwork to build a new home on the 3rd day. We had no intention of ever living in Florida and here and now we were having a new home built and excited to become snowflakes. We never looked back (O.K. maybe a little when we went back to NJ after our initial visit) and we thank our lucky stars that we made this decision.:clap2:
