Hello - I am curious if anyone considered Water Oaks as an alternative to living in TV.

Although I have a home in the Villages, I visited Water Oaks last week for lunch and a few holes of golf until the lightning arrived. I must say that everyone was very friendly, the lunch was great, and the course was well maintained and not crowded.

Have been there to golf and visit a friend's mother - it's like comparing apples and oranges! Lovely place, but no comparison to what you get in The Villages.

I believe Water Oaks is nothing more than manufactured homes. If that is what you want, it looks fine. Personally, I would not want to live in one.

Water Oaks looks like a very nice manufactured home community from the road. However, there are zillions of these throughout Florida in better locations; for example warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, closer to good health care, closer to good restaurants and shopping, closer to other attractions you might be interested in such as boating, fishing, pro-sports, cultural activities, etc. Just my opinion.

I considered Water Oaks, and while the park is pleasant enough and prices for new models reasonable, the monthly space rental and amenities fee of $400+ (as I recall) seemed awfully high to me, and likely to increase annually.

I played golf there 1 time - it was as though they stuck 18 holes in an open field. Awful!!
