View Full Version : Creekside Cabanas Used During Lifestyle Preview Visits

I have made a reservation for a Lifestyle Preview Visit in October. Although I have rented in TV several times already, I thought I had better take advantage of the Lifestyle Preview Visit while they are still available.
I am trying to think where in Lake Sumter Landing the Creekside Cabanas are, but I can’t picture where they are located. Where exactly in Lake Sumter Landing are the Creekside Cabanas?
Are the Creekside Cabanas only used for LSV’s, or do residents live in some of them?
I’m not going to watch a lot of television, but just want to know if there is cable or satellite dish available in the LSV cabanas.
Do the Creekside Cabanas have lanais? I looked at the virtual tour of the Cabana, but only the kitchen, dining room, living room and bedrooms were shown.
A few weeks ago there was thread about a visitor not being told there was no WI-FI available in the Creekside Cabanas, and apparently that was quite a problem for this person. The lady who handled my reservation yesterday mentioned there is no WI-FI available in the Creekside Cabanas; maybe the reservationists have been told to mention this now to people when a reservation is made.
Anyway I am looking forward to it -- counting the days already...

Creekside Landing is located on Old Mill Run, just off Buena Vista. Merryweather Way is the main street in Creekside, if you want to google it. There are residents living in some of the homes, and some are used for LSV's.
Have fun !

It's a lovely place. Our friends for thirty years just used it two months ago for their LSV and they had a pretty villa with a lanai, golf cart and bike. Right down the street from the square and close to everything.
AND guess what? They bought a house that just went up for sale NEXT DOOR to US!!
Watch out you two who like to beat on me. I am gonna be even MORE positive and kool aidy and Pollyannaish. I am so HAPPY!!

rayschic, I looked up Merryweather Way on Mapquest -- now I can picture where it is in Lake Sumter Landing based on where it is in relation to some of the restaurants -- thank you for the address.

Stayed in a villa in Creekside in March of this year during our Life Style stay. It was a 2 bedroom with 2 baths and was very nice. It's within easy walking distance of Lake Sumter Town Center. We were provided a golf cart and 2 bicycles.
WiFi was not available but we would walk to Panera Bread each morning with our laptop and iPad and catchup on emails and news.

Barnes & Noble bookstore has the closest Wi-Fi to the Creekside villas. Every morning while the wife was getting ready I made the short drive over there to their parking lot to log on & check the newest real estate listings & open houses. Enjoy your stay!

We stayed last year in a 3 bedroom Creekside villa. We had WIFI and cable. Ours was not a LSV as we could not get one despite our best efforts. Ours was a private home the owner rented out. I loved the closed lanai, and the privacy of both a back and side yard. Neighbors were lovely and gave me a tour of their unit, which had a layout that I liked even more than ours. Our owner provided golf cart and bikes. It was so close to LSL that we often walked. Bottom line is that even though this was our first and only visit to TV, we ended up loving TV so much that we put a deposit on a lot, started the build a few months ago and we settle in less than two weeks. TV here we come! (As soon as we finish packing and close on this house).

I will be coming the 3rd week of July for a Lifestyle visit and staying at Creekside, and will look at new homes during my visit. I have Verizon hotspot, so hopefully WI-FI will not be a problem.

The best solution to having wifi is getting your own hotspot (mifi). Recently my ATT web DSL service was out for 4 days for the whole area. Forget ATT reliability! Anyway, after 2 days I went to Walmart (or whatever you call it) and found a 'pay as you go' hotspot (mifi) called "Internet to Go". It's on the Sprint network which coverage is not as good as Verizon but the cost is much less and you don't have to pay monthly charges like Verizon. Only what you use and the time doesn't expire. Much like Tracfone. Cost of the unit was $80. The pay as you go cards are in increments of 10, 25 and 45 dollars. The 25 that I bought gives you 1.5 GB of usage. The unit is so small you can fit it in a shirt pocket! Easy set up and decent service plus you can hook up to 5 devices to it at one time. If you only use it for email and websurfing, it will last quite a while before you need to buy more time. So far, I'm happy.

CaptJohn, Thank you for the information. I may look into this if I don't go the using WI-FI at Panera Bread/Barnes & Noble/TV sales office route. This could serve a dual purpose as my father is the last person in the U.S. not to have internet access at his house (I know I am exaggerating on that). It frustrates me to no end when visiting him to not have internet access at his house (whine, whine, whine).
This past Christmas my sister and brother-in-law let me use their MI-FI service through their cell phone provider (Cincinnati Bell) when we were all my Dad's house visiting for the holidays.
Do you know if this Sprint MI-FI service works nationwide? I am specifically thinking of eastern Iowa where my Dad lives. I have Sprint for my cell phone provider, so I should look into this before I return to TV and before I go to my Dad's house for a visit in a couple of weeks.

Yes, I have heard the golf carts on the LSV's are set to drive slower than the standard golf carts in TV. You should have seen me learning to drive a golf cart for the first time 2 years ago. My instructor/landlord kept saying "Laura, put that pedal to the medal if you want to go 19.9 MPH." I don't think I will ever get a golf cart speeding ticket in TV. LOL.

How far in advance can a reservation be made? My wife and I want to visit on November 12 and stay until the 17th. The sales associate said they would call when they were able to make a reservation...

It is mostly in the eastern U.S. but not near the coverage of Verizon and not near the cost either. It seems to follow interstates. I figure as long as it covers where I'm going then I don't need the whole world coverage and certainly don't want to pay for it. Looks to cover all of TV and central FL.

My husband and I stayed in the Creekside Villas 2 years ago and loved it. Very convenient to everything. Yes, they do have cable. I know you will enjoy your visit.
Bobby and I officially became proud owners of a home in the Village of Pinellas this week (July 2) and the movers are bringing our furniture this Tuesday, July 9th. We are looking forward to being FROGS>

T-325, I made my reservation on Friday, 7/5 for an LSV starting on October 12. The number to reserve an LSV at The Villages Sales Office is 800-346-4556. If you call the Sales Office and ask when they will start taking reservations for November, one of the reservationists should be able to tell you. The LSV cost for an October visit is $125 per night, so I am guessing that would probably also be per night cost for a November visit. They will charge your credit card when they take the reservation. I asked about the cancellation policy, and it is 48 hours in advance (I just wanted to know this as I have an elderly father, and one never knows about changing health situations at his age).
As an aside when I made my reservation I asked the reservationist if the kitchen in the cabana has dishes, plates, glasses and silverware in case I want to make a snack or have a beverage. She said the kitchens are so fully stocked that guests can cook a Thanksgiving dinner if they want to!

CaptJohn, Thank you for posting the website -- looks like Dubuque, Iowa (where my dad lives) has coverage and also The Villages so I am going to check into this. Now only if you could convince my dad to get internet access at his house...
