ID cards - help needed

Grateful if you kind people would help me understand the ID card system, or send me a link to a site that explains it

Currently, when we leave TV we hang on to our Resident ID cards and, if we have family using our house while we are away, we arrange Guest IDs for them.

Sometimes, we would like our guests to be able to use the sports pools and we've heard that this can be arranged by handing in our Resident IDs and getting "special" IDs for our guests. Is this so, and how much do these "special" IDs cost?

Here's a link to the guest ID info.
If you turn in your two resident ID's, you lose YOUR amenity privlidges and you can get two ID's for your guests for $50. This is usually done for rental homes. This way your guests will have all the resident privledges.

You turn your ID cards in at Spanish Springs sales office (ask for Brenda or Margie). They'll keep the cards there until you (or an authorized agent come to pick them up). You will need to fill out a form for your guests (or renters). They can then get their ID cards at the Lake Sumter sales office with proper ID and $50. These temporary (paper) ID cards will entitle your guests to all of the rights and privileges you have (so long as they're over 30). Then, when you come back down, you go to the Spanish Springs office and pick up your ID card. Really easy (just sounds complicated).

When we rented, we were able to use the Regional pools for exercise and swimming laps with just the regular guess pass.

Edit: My better half just informed me that it was summer time, so they let us in because it wasn't full. In the Winter you will need the Resident ID. Sorry for any confusion. :)

I am hoping someone can help answer a couple of questions. I am purchasing a home (closing nexxt month!!). My fiance and I will be coming down for a visit a couple of weeks after the close. The home is only in my name, but he will be a resident also. This is not going to be our permanent residence. I understand that I can get a Resident ID with no problem as the home is in my name, but how can my fiance obtain an id. He does not have a FL id or drivers licence, everything will be in my name...
Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

When you close and get your ID, the people at the Closing office will explain the rules and determine if he can have permanent ID or get a guest ID when he is here.

If you are allowed 4 resident Id's does that mean all 4 have to be on the title. Many times people don't hold property in both names for various tax and legal reasons. Shouldn't a person be able to list up to 4 people as residents when they buy without them being Florida residents. I looked at the villages site and it asks for Florida ids etc many owners are not yet Florida residents surely they can have resident (owners ) Id's. If a person plans on having a roommate shouldn't that roommate be able to have a resident ID. They are living there after all. What am I missing?

All 4 do not have to be on the title. They can get non-owner ID cards which are blue.

I do not mind that I need I D cards to use the facility's here.
