We are interested in purchasing a home in TV and one is listed in Liberty Park area. Does the Villages Water Treatment Plant create odors over the area and how often does the wind blow from the North East to create problems?
Thanks for your response.

I have a friends that lives there... One says it has a odor once in a while (when the wind blows) depends on how close to BVB you are. the others are away from the Blvd. they can not smell anything.

I have lived in Liberty Park since 2007 and have never smelled any odor from the water treatment plant. Sometimes when I walk on Buena Vista I can detect an odor, but not often.

We have lived in Liberty Park since mid-November 2011. We back up to the Rapid Infiltration Basin Systems used for reclaimed water overflow (look on Google Earth). We have never smelled the treatment plant or smelled anything related to reclaimed water.

Now Bacall and Bogart golf courses, and parts of The Village of Largo are a different matter. I have smelled treatment plant odor there.

A fellow I play golf with who ran a treatment plant for decades says the treatment plant needs to use more nitrogen and the smell would go away.

I have smelled what I thought was a sewage treatment plant when I was playing golf on Evans Prairie golf course. I've never noticed it by Liberty Park or on Buena Vista.

Thanks to all that posted here. We are newly looking at all areas for a designer with some view and over 1,850 sq ft. LibertyPark is central to most things and seems desirable. We will continue looking here, resting assured that we can breath easy.

Before looking in any neighborhood, ask your salesperson to identify all sewage or water treatment systems on the map.
