We will be building a new designer home. Does anyone know if there is a rule/regulation that precludes you from building the same model home as a neighbor's home - which is one or two lots from yours? (I may have this confused with a rule/regulation regarding available color choices for the outside of a new home.)
Thanks!

You can build the same model for sure. You cannot choose the same color choice for the outside as the direct neighbor to the right or left of your lot

We saw the official model of the Seabrook and asked for the price quote of the exact copy of the model inside and out. It was a price we liked.
They built it for us, in sight of the model, but on another street. My thought was, a skilled designer made all of those choices, and we love it, why decide something different?
We are so pleased.
I am dying to see how the folks who bought the original model decorated it. They removed the furniture before they put it up for sale, kind of an unusual thing to do. Usually they sell show models furnished. We decorated ours differently than the model and it feels like home. Love the finishes, inside and out.

As long as it is a different color no problem.

we didn't build our house right next door to the model, but when we toured models, we just said build ours exactly the same: the floor, the counters, the cupbboards, the faucets, the lighting packages and the tiles in the showers! We were so easy for the design team except we added a door between the master bath and the middle bedroom. The design team member did a great job on that. :BigApplause:
