Century Link is going door to door in Hadley. She came to our door yesterday and was very persistant when I told her we had just renewed our two year contract with Direct TV. I was nice to her even though I know she isn't supposed to solicit. Found out our neighbor ran her off his property and told her she was trespassing.

Not allowed to do that, I am pretty sure. Be wise to call Village Watch.

I'm sort of stunned and suspicious. Did you call Centurylink to confirm? No one has ever solicited in our neighborhood... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

We had Century Link and switched to Comcast. About a year later a rep came to my door to determine the reason for our switching.

A common MO used by crooks recently is posing as solicitors of different business. After knocking on your door, if no one answers, they break in. Not saying that is what this is, but I agree to call Villages Watch. The world just isn't what it used to be.

Thank you for starting this thread, I wanted too and then thought I was over reacting, but ..................

We have had nothing but phone calls from Century Link for months now and, as soon as I see it's them on the caller ID, I just shut the phone down. So about three weeks ago I had the first of the Century Link people knock on the door, and I went out to them. I told them I was sick to death of having them invading my privacy and told them not to call until I owed them money, then they could call.

A week later, at supper time, another young man appeared in the Century Link green tee shirt uniform and showing his identification badge. Now, I'm really mad ........ so I went outside and told them that this was harrassment and if they keep calling and coming to my door I will call the police.

Just this week I got yet another Century Link green shirt - at which point I was beyond angry and told him he was the final straw and I intended to switch to Comcast and to get off my property. He actually had the b...s to smile and made a note on his clip board, apologized profusely and left.

I wish I knew who to get to at the top because I am really furious over this infringement on my privacy.

I think I'm buying ago stock in Centry link. Marketing works even though it is annoying

We are on the do not call list and I think we now get more calls

Maybe you should get a pit bull and let him answer the door for green shirts

We also had a Century Link saleslady come to our door. When I questioned her illegal solicitation, she told us that since Century Link was already a business in the community and had lines in our Village, she was allowed to go house to house (a crock of BS, in my opinion). Yet she said if we were to report her she would leave. That comment put up a red flag, for sure!

I would have reported her but my husband gave me the evil eye for opening my mouth so I just went back into the house. We did NOT give them our business.

Then she returned a second time, using pressure, by telling us she was being transferred to the Orlando area. I now had done some research so told her about the negative responses on TOTV and that we weren't interested....period! I was very blunt about the negative feedback recommending she let the company know so they could fix the problems. She left and never returned.
