Was talking with someone today and during the conversation, regrets came up. Seems that regrets often come up in conversation with this individual.

Then another friend asked a question, "If you had 30 seconds to convey wisdom to yourself when you were 5 years younger, what would you say?" Responses varied from regrets to having nothing to offer.

Think about it, do you live often with regrets or did you learn from the past and just continue on, without guilt? What would you say given the opportunity to offer some wisdom to you?

The regrets do not apply to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one or a precious pet....loss brings all sorts of emotions and pain to individuals. I'm talking about those people who are currently living without this horrific situation.

I would not say I have had a lot to regret in my life, but if I could give a piece of advice to my nieces, I would say appreciate your parents while they are still alive (even though you may think they are "lame" and you know everything). I don't think I appreciated my mom enough while she was alive, and I regret that. Not a week goes by when I don't wish I could call my mom and have lunch with her or go to the movies with her, and it has been 16 years now since she passed away. Fortunately my dad is still with us, but I have had 3 coworkers lose their dads since January. So even though my dad is a little cranky at times and is very opinionated, I am so glad he is still here!

a lot of the "road not taken" syndrome and, most often, the conversation is with myself
