My wife and I visited TV and want to move there sooner than later. We are thinking about buying a villa and renting it until we can retire in 5 years. We do not want to have 2 mortgages. Any thoughts on the availability of renters and if this is a typical scenario?

You will have no problem renting it during 1Q (most popular time) if it is furnished and includes internet and golf cart.....$3,000/mo.

You say villa, the rents for a Patio villa are very different than those for a Courtyard Villa. If you do a search you will find past threads with replies from people who rent with good numbers so you can do the math. There have been a lot of people who have been looking for a long term unfurnished rental on this site recently I would check those threads also.

Yes, you are very typical.

I might even say it's the norm for people who aren't able to move in themselves right away or who will be part-timers for a while.
