We will be selling our patio villa on our own and wondered if anyone could recommend a title/escrow company to handle the details.

McLin-Burnsed has a FSBO packet they will email you and will coordinate what is needed for closing.

Tri- County Title Company is very adept at helping the seller. I've used them twice, as a buyer and seller.

I vote for McLinn Burnsed. We used them to sell our designer. I think the cost was $750. They handled everything perfectly.

We bought our TV house as a FSBO and used McLin Burnsed.
McLin Burnsed Attorneys at Law | Real estate attorneys (http://www.mclinburnsed.com/realestate.html)
They have several locations: McLin & Burnsed locations (http://www.mclinburnsed.com/locations.html)
We used their office in LSL - (352) 753-4690
There were a couple of technical/typo glitches that we caught early on in the process........fortunately!! Aside from that, the whole process went smoothly.
As Village Kid 2 mentioned, contact them and they can send you a packet of info that will help you get the process started.

I refinanced my mortgage and McLinn Burnsed was the legal firm involved. It was a DISASTER!!! I had to get an attorney to notify MB that they were supporting a title insurance fee in the "Good Faith Estimate" that was higher than state law specifies. My repeated effort was not enough to get them to change. The attorney did, finally, on the day of closing.
MB is a subsidiary of The Villages. Customers are dropped into their lap through their connection to CItizens First Mortgage. IMHO they are lazy and unresponsive.
Here is an honest, efficient, reliable real estate attorney:
Arlene Udick, of the firm Bogin Munns & Munns, Sante Fe Bldg. Hwy 466

We used a title company and closing office located at Sante Fe Shopping Center (off 466) I think Advantage Title??? Did everything for buyer/seller. Contract, held $$ in escrow and closing. We did cash closing and closed in two weeks from date of contract. Less than Mclin Burnsed
