We're going to have quite a bit to get rid of when we move into our house later this month. Furniture, knick-knacks, miscellaneous. I assume we're not the first people in this position. Heheh.
I was just wondering how most people handle it? Sell, possibly ads right here? Donate to charities? Other?

We had an auction company pick it up and sell it. Did we make a lot? No, but a fair price and we didn't have to do any work or risk our backs by moving it around. They came and picked up everything we wanted them to.

if you decide to go garage sale, bear in mind that the tag line 'brought too much stuff with us' in an ad is one that attracts many to the weekly 'exercise' routing of amny bargain hunters in the villages!
there are also a couple of businesses that advertise in the daily sun classified section [under garage or estate sales] that could come in and run the sale for you - hafta contact them for their fees. their help is invaluable for effective pricing, negotiating and subsequent price reduction.
