Is it done in the local hospital there?
do they do the new procedure - were the incision is about an inch long - and they check other parathyroids while in there?

is there a good surgeon locally that does this? his name?

One of the first things I have to do when I arrive - blood calcium has gone screwy - have done all the pre work here -- fine needle aspersions, ultra sound, and CT scans - so have it narrowed down.

any help appreciated

I'm sorry that you have not received any replies to your question.

You might consider going to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, if you can't find a local doctor. My husband went there for several years, even when we lived in South Florida. It was always worth the travel time.

There is a parathyroid center in Tampa. The doctors there were the pioneers of the mini surgery. People from all over the world go there. They have a website so google parathyroid surgery and you'll find it.

I had thyroid cancer and needed my thyroid taken out. Judith Milstead at Lake, Ear, Nose & Throat did it. She was awesome !!

Is the local hospital, here in the Villages, capable of this type of Parathyroid Surgery?
