That would be my guess to. Too little oxygen for too many fish. It would help if they put an aerator fountain in which look nice plus put more oxygen in the water.

So the rain takes the oxygen away?

And in only that pond? This is interesting.

I am waiting to hear many opinions. And I will.

Even some will say it is ole Gary's fault.;)

I suppose it depends on the depth of the water, for the amount of fish?
We saw this last year, in the pond backing up to our rental. The stench was awful!!

Article explaining the situation in today's paper. For those not in TV, that article says:
Heavy Rain Blamed in Deaths of Fish
A large fish kill in a retention pond was caused by temperature inversion due to heavy rainfall, according to district staff.
Friday's rainfall pushed cold temperatures to the bottom of the pond at the intersection of Buena Vista Boulevard and Baily Trail., causing water in the pond to loose the majority of its oxygen content, Property Management Director Sam Wartibee said.
District staff is cleaning the dead fish out of the pond, Wartibee said.
