What's up with workers at Gilchrist pool who use the men's bathroom?
They are constantly stinking it up and have dirty workbooks not what I was expecting.Maybe the gate to the pool should be card activated in new pools until construction is finished.

Thought they had to have porta-potties on the job site. Surprised to hear this, but when you gotta you gotta go!

At "any" of the pools (neighborhood and sometimes the family ones) you might see workers using the bathrooms. Where would you have them "go"? If they're leaving them dirty..call Village Watch and report it. Actually I'm not sure who'd you'd call but that would be a place to start.

They are used at our community pool by the landscapers all the time

As was said, if you gotta go, you gotta go. Port-A-Potties are required for construction sites; yardworkers have the following choices -- use someone's home (if homeowner available and willing to let them in); use the side of a house or tree; use the pool bathrooms. My choice would be to allow them to use the pool bathrooms. It is a kindness and a slight inconvenience to us.

Stinking it up? It's a bathroom, that's what happens. Dirty workboots? Surely you're not going barefoot into a public restroom. I think that sometimes in the new neighborhoods, people get possessive of their neighborhood pool. I have heard stories of people getting indignant when someone from another village uses their pool, not yet understanding that we all can use all the pools. Be patient, construction will end eventually!

If the workers are tracking in dirt with their workboots, into a pool bathroom where the floors are wet from swimmers coming in wet (which is acceptable, I think, so people don't pee in the pool) that is a big problem.

Going to these pools is a vacation-like activity we pay for, and I don't like paying for an expensive resort hotel that has filthy bathroom floors in the restrooms or locker/dressing rooms. These pool bathrooms should be no different.

Maybe there should be a worker's service truck with a trailer hauling 2 port-pots that gets parked for a half hour and then moves on to another street nearby in construction zones.

What he said. Your pool is my pool and my pool is your pool and when ya gotta go, ya gotta go.

And IF you are working for a living and not living off me, you can poop in my pool potty.

Is this a folk song?

Yea. If the landscapers had to drive off TV to find a place to go, that would have to be added to the cost of keeping our lawns looking good and I am sure that would create a big stink. no pun intended.

I agree....makes "scents" to do(do) otherwise. (Both puns intended)

There are many people who use the bathrooms at the pools, not just construction workers. The Villages provides jobs daily for hundreds of outside workers: the people who shingle your roof, trim your trees, repair your air conditioners, mow your lawns, paint your exteriors, install your shutters, repair your golf carts, workers from Seco and Teco and Comcast.

All these worker bees occasionally need to use bathroom facilities. I think it's a little inhospitable to expect them to hold it all day. I don't want them peeing in my yard. I see nothing wrong with them using pool bathroooms provided they clean up after themselves and don't leave their dirty workbooks lying around.

there are lots of porta potties in the new construction sites. of course if they are going to/from the job site and they have to go...let them use the pool restrooms.
there are more important things to worry about.

Please people, have some compassion and kindness in your heart. These workers work hard and it's not a big deal for them to use our bathrooms.

We live in a lovely community which is maintained by these under paid human beings. I say thank you for your hard work and thank you for keeping my community looking splendid.

I was at a pool recently when a local landscaper came in and used the bathroom, then as he was leaving I spied a snake slithering around the pool deck area. The guy calmly and voluntarily cornered the snake and ushered it out of the pool area. Good trade off.

Are you serious?? Why don't we just get servant quarters for the poor, wretched souls? How dare they think that they can use the accommodations that we sainted Villagers pay our $145.00 a month for??? Just try watching these young people working up on the roofs of the homes in 90 degree + weather to make sure we have the wonderful homes we have. Give me a break...if you are so offended then put in your own pool and prohibit the 'unclean' from using your personal bathroom.

While some worker bees may leave dirt from their work boots in the bathroom they do need a place to do their business. I see all kinds of workers using the pool potty......Seco, T&D pools, lawn maintenance workers, landscapers, Massey Lawn care......all kinds of people. I believe that "someone" comes around to clean the bathrooms daily?? So, that would take care of any mess made by workers. I see maintenance people using the golf course bathrooms too. No harm, no foul. I assume people aren't going into a public restroom without shoes??? Oh wait, I saw a person pull up on a golf cart at Palmetto golf course and walk into the men's room barefoot.....
