Watch out for this guy

Yesterday I think I saw it all..At 4;30 I played 9 at Palmer, Riley Grove, with my wife. We had the course to ourselves till the third hole..I noticed a man waiting at the t when we were making our second shots..On the next hole I was on the green and my wife was 50 yds out..this guy had hit his first shot and it came no where near us..As my wife was setting up her pitch to the green the guy hit a line drive past my wife onto the green...I walked over to his ball, picked it up, called him a jackass, and threw his ball as far as I could away from the green. He calmly picked up his ball and proceeded to the next hole, ahead of us...By the time an ambassador arrived, two holes later, the man had disappeared.. It seems he was a non paying walk on that thought he'd squeeze a couple holes in.. A total jerk that could have hurt someone, and it's a good thing he didn't, or I'd fear for his safety.

I'd guess mid 60's. I think he knew what he was doing and was impatient, and was not supposed to be on the course at all.

I would have to guess it was a new person, recently moved in to one of the homes backing the golf course that didn't have a clue about the rules and decorum and etiquette of golf or didn't care and thought he was entitled to go out there and hit a few. No one who knows anything about golf or life for that matter hits into anyone. He will next be strolling with his dog out there and letting his grandchildren hang out there on the course after hours.

If what you are saying is true then if this guy gets caught he will be barred from Palmer's.

One of the reasons that I love golf is because you very rarely find golfers with such rude arrogant behavior. Yesterday an article appeared in our local Illinois newspaper regarding a golfer (75 years old) who lost his wallet on a local public golf course-----it was found by a golfer and returned to the Pro shop with the $400.00 cash still in the wallet! The man was quoted as saying, "No big deal, any other golfer would do the same thing".
