If anyone in Fernandina 215 is interested in getting together with others in our neighborhood please pm me. We are putting together a spreadsheet to include all of us newbies (this is per a suggestion by Jimbob who, coincidentally, is out of town for the next month and I am sure he is hoping to come back to a completely organized group!)

Since not everyone is on TOTV please spread the word to your neighbors.

Trish good, glad you're getting the ball rolling.

this list worked great for the folks over in Gilcrest, should work here as well :pepper2:

Please pm or email Trish the following info (as much as you want or more)

Name
Address
Tel#
Email

Hobbies interests and activities that you like or want to do.

such as golf, pickle ball etc

Once we have a group started we can meet at Bradenton or Evan Prairie for drinks and an intro.:beer3:

We can do a driveway party if the group is small enough from time to time and a block party if it takes off it's up to you.

We've been getting some responses. This is not to take away from the wonderful Fernandina group and all of the great things they plan...this is just an opportunity to get together with closer neighbors in 215 and get to know each other.

Also that group can't handle the numbers that wish attend their functions.

This is why we want to get together in a smaller group closer to our immediate area, agree

Bob, I tried to change the title but it wouldn't work. Looking forward to getting you two back and thanks for the vote of confidence re: the spreadsheet....gonna have to get Mr. Computer (aka Steve) to put this together since I am a moron with computers!!

Just want to say thanks to the moderator for helping me out! I was also thinking of a name for our group.....how about 'FERNANDINA SOCIAL CLUB' but, instead of using the name use the Greek acronym....Zeta Sigma Gamma (FSC), since we have just as much freedom now as we had in the ol' college days and definitely do just as much drinking! Heck, we'll host the first toga party!

You may want to ponder somewhat about a name. "Fernandina and Friends" already exists as a social club.

I guess what I am trying to say, how would this be different than the existing social club?

Just a thought.

Thanks! The name was kind of tongue in cheek, just hoping for responses. We are soooo open to suggestions.

Please check posts 5 & 6. The idea is more to get to know your immediate neighbors sort of like being able to run across the lawn to borrow a cup of sugar. " Fernandina and Friends" is doing a great job for the entire village with the projects they have and the gatherings they plan. Their projects are sort of 'national in scope' and this group would be more like a neighborhood evening block party, with the emphasis on "evening party". BTW after further research it's ΒΦΣΚ Beta Phi Sigma Kappa. (Village of Fernandina Social Club) (With apologies to both Phi Sigma Kappa and Phi Sigma Chi, which are national Greek fraternities. Hey, they drink too, so maybe they won't mind the use of their copyright :beer3:

Trish I am so thrilled to run across this thread and see you are finally living the dream! Perhaps, you can call your social group Finding Friends in Fernandina. Whatever, you decide to call it I hope its a huge success and make many friends.

Tom & I will be doing a LSV the last week in September and I will keep an eye open for you. Seventeen more months and were finally free.

I live in this Village off of Anna Marie Place but have no idea what 215 is. Explain please. Is this for singles? couples? what makes it different than what is already started?

Look at your green TV ID. There with be a number beginning with S. I'm pretty sure that Anna Marie is in Unit 215.

I could be wrong, but I think 215 is south of Pinellas Place... If someone is north of Pinellas and is in unit 215, please chime in and correct my ignorance.

Some of the villages are broken up into different sections....215 is the area west of Anna Maria and south of Pinellas. The difference between this and the Fernandina and friends is, we are getting together a group of people in this particular neighborhood for socializing, not especially organized. The Fernandina and Friends group is terrific and fantastically organized and we are definitely continuing to enjoy the wonderful things they offer. This is just an opportunity to meet neighbors in a smaller setting. If you are East of Anna Maria please feel free to join us anyway.

215's primary road is Ridgewood path, with Hillsbrough Trail on the southern side.
