What does the word "reasonable" mean in The Villages? I have played with and behind guys with it. I know there are people who need this, but OMG is it abused or what?

yes. it is abused. They are supposed to be 15 feet from Greens, Bunkers, Tee boxes etc. but NO they pull right up front, slowing play and then damaging access to the green with their carts. Most need the help, others just don't care

Damaging access to the green? I've seen some folks closer than they should be but can't recall seeing damage to the access to the green.

I saw a guy drive into the sand trap at Hawke's Bay, hit his ball and then drive out. It was on the first hole and I was standing next to Ambassador. I asked why he didn't do anything, he said he had no authority.

there will always be in any kind of group one wants to focus upon those who do as they please and as though rules are for others not them.

Thankfully these are the 1% that somehow get all the chatter.

I prefer to dwell on the other 99% that are doing what is expected.

Would love it if that dope who drove into the sand trap be banned from playing golf here in The Villages.

My reaction assumes this is NOT one of the carts that is designed to go in traps for folks that cannot walk.

Not knowing all the facts, just picturing the situation you posted, I think a reasonable response is:

ban the person in the cart for n months. where n='a long time'
fire the ambassador, BS he has no authority.

There are many softball players that show up at Belmont to play, There are at least 8 of them that have RA's.Do they use these while playing ball?

What is an RA?

Reasonable Accommodation. Golf cart gets tagged and allows the operator to drive closer to the greens rather than parking on the cart path hence a legitimate disability. It does not however permit the operator to abuse the course and in my opinion neither should the RA be abused.

This and Handicapped auto stickers are the most abused programs in the Villages. I know a man who's wife had knee replacement surgery 8 years ago and he is still using a handicapped sticker. Of course he is still playing golf regularily.

There is a FL web site where you can report reckless drivers, drivers too old and unaware to be driving, etc. It's been mentioned on this forum. Perhaps you could report this handicapped sticker abuse there.
