Long Island Club

Hi,

I'm from Commack, NY and I am moving to the villages to be a full time resident in October and would love to meet other Long Islander's.

I know there are many of you out there. Is there a Long Island Club ? Because I'd love to join it when I get there. If not I'd like to start one.
Maybe you could provide me information about it if there is one.

Look forward to meeting many new friends from Long Island and anywhere else. Can't wait to be part of the Village community.

Hi-- asou can see by my forum name I Am from LI (Coram) my wife was from Holtsville. We are snow birds and manages to attend the only meeting of the Long Island Club (in this carnation). we had people from the 2 counties and the 2 burroughs. The person that started it became ill and couldn't continue. So basically nothing was done since.
If you start one they will come (my wife and myself for sure). There are other threads on this that are informative. .you would think an island with a population of 6 million could get enogh villagers to keep a club going.

I'm a Long Island girl as well and miss my "peeps". What needs to be done to get us together? If the person who ran it became ill (and that's a shame), if I'm willing to step up, any idea what I have to do?

There will be a Long Island club starting back up January again by a gentleman who started it last year.send me your info and I'll email you when I get more info.

I'm from Levittown. I used to miss it until I went back for a visit. Noise, crowds, traffic, pothole filled roads, honking horns, and so much more. I'll take The Villages.

I used to work with someone from Levitown and I used to live in hicksville which isn't too far. I will be moving to Collier next month. i hope I like the Villages more than I like it here. I will miss the Ocean and friends but that's really it.

I would like to start the club when I get there in around three weeks. I will contact anyone who would like to be a part of this. You can send me a private message with your email addresses and I will contact you with the date and time. If that works for most of us, then we can meet and get to know each other and discuss what we would like to get from the club. I look forward to meeting all of you late October. I think it will be the start of something fun for all of us Long Islander's. I'm open to anyone who would like to join me in picking up where Diane left off.

I will be in TV for a few short weeks. If interested, I can get a meeting together sometime in the beginning of November. Nothing formal. Perhaps a meeting at Crispers or a rec center room if possible. Once I return in January we can be more creative. Ant interest?
