i don't know if people want to discuss netflix movies but i just saw one which i thought was outstanding. Sarah's Key, a french flim with english subtitles and also quite a bit of english dialogue...concerns the french arrest of parisian jews. on a level with Sophie's Choice for beautiful, haunting story.

I didn't know it was made into a movie! I read the book about 6 months ago and it was a great read. I hope the movie is just as good.

I have mentioned DVDs so I cannot see why Netflix isn't allowed on TOTV. I will look for this movie. :posting:

We just finished watching all of the first year of the HBO series "Newsroom" - will be hard to wait until next summer when probably the 2nd year will be available, but meanwhile we can watch "The Sopranos."
We're also catching up on 7 years of "West Wing, " which I had seen on and off, but Ohioboy had missed due to a commitment on the night it played and never having enough time to catch up on recorded stuff when we were working.
We've watched a couple episodes of "House of Cards," but it just isn't grabbing us like Newsroom and West Wing. Only one season (I think) of "The Practice" is available, for some reason.
Any other really good TV shows from the past (or present - on the premium channels, maybe)?

If you have an IPhone you can get an app for Netflix and watch tv on your phone. You just have to be careful not to go over your data charges. I have Comcast and no tv just the phone and and Ipad mini I am going to get an Apple TV soon.

How about Lillehammer, a Netflix produced series of episodes? Silly but fun.
I keep waiting for someone to show goodness in House of Cards. Maybe the episodes to be released soon will be just the ticket,:)
