First celebrity this year, Kelly Clarkson, discovered her ancestor was imprisoned in the infamous Andersonville Prison............what a hell hole.

For history buffs that Andersonville Trail should be explored. The wire is long gone but supposedly the holes near some of the trees were dug by prisoners of the US Army for protection against elements. The trail also takes you to Plains, ga and Warm Springs.

Elmira Prison in NY was just as bad a hell hole! (and they had no good excuse as they had plenty of food available)
Lincoln refused a prisoner exchange so the suffering is partly his fault.
