Hello all,
I know this is late notice and truly will appreciate any suggestions u can give me. I will be coming down to TV next Wednesday, Aug 14, on the Life Style Preview and want to get a good idea if this is the place for me to retire to.
I am single and am curious to see if there are singles activities that I could participate in during my week at TV.
I have read lots of the posts and they are very helpful and was wondering if there are specific events during the week that are friendly to singles.
Will appreciate all feedback.
Thanks a bunch, Red

When I came to The Villages looking for a house, a real estate agent said she knew of a house in a neighborhood where there were a lot of singles. I ended up buying the house and she was right, there were a lot of singles. They were not exactly my preferred age group but they were all very nice and friendly. On average, we would get together to eat out about once a month to celebrate birthdays etc.. That was on the east side of 441 and I have since relocated.

It doesn't hurt to ask about singles. Real estate agents sometimes know these things.

There are tons and tons of single activities. Check the Villages paper and clubs. It's on line.

When you arrive or even before if you speak with your representative, ask for a list of all the singles clubs and meetings. Your rep or even the lobby host who initially greets you can get the list from the lifestyle office along with any other info you may want on clubs, shows, walking trails or whatever your interests may be

Redjanie, Welcome to TOTV from a single wannabee from up north. There is a section on TOTV called "Singles". You might want to check out that section as there are quite a few active singles groups in The Villages.

The following info. is taken from a post that KathieI posted several days ago about singles dancing at the Waterfront Inn in Lake Sumter Landing. If you are doing the LSV, the Waterfront Inn is very close to where you will be staying.

Monday night - Singles (or Marrieds) dance
Wednesday night - Dance with Pat Atkinson (Sumter Singles attend also)
Thursday night - Dance with Petrina
Saturday night - Dance with Pat and Jennifer Atkinson - many swing dances, line dances, and anything else you want to request.

Be sure to take the trolley tour (ask about that at the sales office) and visit each of the squares, Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing (where you are staying) and Brownwood. There is music and dancing at each square every night of the week starting at 5:00 p.m. Ask Villagers questions about their experiences in living in The Villages -- most people are happy to give you their opinion. I hope you have a great time during your LSV. :welcome:
