I seem to remember reading, before building started south of 466A, that plans were for 11,000 homes south of 466A. Not sure if that was published on TOTV or from one of the Developer State of The Villages meetings.

If you go to the VDCC website, look under bond amortization schedules, pick a section in district and it will show how many lots are platted in each. They have the schedules through section 235.

click on this link VCDD Your Community District (http://www.districtgov.org/yourdistrict/index.aspx) and from there you can click on each district to see the number and type of each home in each district bu clicking on the 'district facts' item - 'cept for district 10 which is not posted there yet.

Here's how to figure. Get the map and an accurate scaled measuring device (a good scaled clear ruler should do. Take a couple hours and figure out the acreage. TV have between 4.2 and 4.8 houses per acre depending upon the mix of premier, cottage, designer and villa homes. That will give you a rough idea.
And, after you do that, please post your comments. Your sales rep may be able to give you a rough idea too.

UPDATE. I just saw in the Daily Commercial paper that district ten has about a thousand acres. At an average of 4.5 or so homes per acre (between 4.2 and 4.8) that would equate to 4,500 homes. However, if there are a lot of villas and fewer prestige the number could be much higher. Also, if they are projecting 11,000 more residents, that would equate to about 6,000 homes.

In any event, there is the probable range.

Did your salesman happen to mention any new softball fields, or grocery stores, or churches, or strip malls and where they are going to be located?

Correction, my earlier post mentioned 11,000 homes but the references I was trying to remember were about a projection of 11,000 residents south of 466A. Since TV uses a figure of two per home that should work out to 5,500 homes or there about. But that will change with the addition of homes going into the land they recently bought by Lake Deaton.

I read that too. Actually I heard Mark say it at a POA meeting.

At 11,000 homes south of 466A, that would be close to 22,000 people as some homes will only have one resident. Interesting. Thanks for the info.

If that is correct, that means buildout will be complete by approximately February 2015. I am pondering on that...

Is there any more information what will be done with the land The Villages recently bought by Lake Deaton? Homes? What kind? How many? Or is that info. not yet available?

I don't think anyone promised us a softball field, stripmall or grocery store,or church. The developers hype says that the rec centers, swimming pools, GOLF COURSES and roads are all in place first.

I don't remember anything about a rose garden either. Gary Morse isn't our mom.

However...I have noticed that the rest of the stuff usually comes after the build. I don't know about softball fields. OR dog parks. OR performing art centers. As my gran used to say...Wish in one hand..

Not sure if the info on the number of homes is published yet but in the paperwork submitted to the County last year it was proposed that 225 acres would be used as residential/mixed use development. The rest of the land is wetlands and storm water management use.
