Hi everyone,

I love this site and I am sorry to say I came here as a lurker from an article about Leisureville a few years back. I have a business in the dance studio industry, where I travel and I am deciding on a permanent retirement location. The business is primarily consulting so it doesn’t infringe on any of the rules I have researched about TV, as I plan on continuing it during “retirement”.

My question is, can someone give me a ball park figure on what I should be looking at for a six month rental in TV. I have gone to various sites, but I feel sometimes people who live in an area know more than realtors and therefore could give me better advice.

My home now is Cape Cod, MA where I was a public educator, so I understand TV is what I call reverse-same as where I now live, one price off season, one price during. My home here I will lease through the school system I worked for to a first year teacher, affordable and I know it will be well cared for.

You can pm me here if you have any advice. Thanks everyone, I look forward to joining you soon.

probably depends on which 6 months...if it includes Jan-Apr, will be higher. If May-Oct will be lower.

Here is a site that has hundreds of rentals in The Villages, you should find whatever price or home you need. The Villages 4 Rent, Rentals in The Villages (http://www.villages4rent.com/)

It really depends on what type of home you want. You can get a manufactured home for six months for about $800/month; a designer could run up to $3,000. So, pick your poison.

Dance studio instructor equals gigalo. One of the top 3 complaints here in Florida against Seniors. They prey on women or men with money and drain the bank account. No respect for this industry at all.

I may be inclined to agree with you HOWEVER, I am not teaching Seniors to dance, I am Boston Ballet trained, now with three masters degrees, one from Harvard University, a full scholarship at age 55 for technology education. My business is to teach dance teachers how to have better dance classrooms, primarily because I think there are so many bad teachers out there and I have a dislike button for "Dance Moms". My concept is the opposite of that.

You may wish to read my bio before you judge, Irishman, FYI I too am a Bawstin Irishmahn

Thanks Red Witch, I am alone so a small rental (2 bedrooms) is preferred. Here on Cape it is all word of mouth referral, none of us trust the local realtors for many reasons. I also like your post about Sun Trust. I trust your opinion here always!

Yikes! Rude. To the OP.....this type of opinion is few and far between here in TV.

Good luck in your search for a rental. FYI....if you look for a yearly rental, you can save $.

I certainly don't want to miss this!:wave:You wouldn't be saying that if I put on a tutu and tried to audition. Instead you'd be heading tout de suite, pronto, ASAP for the state line. :22yikes:

I think this is a FABULOUS idea, you mean no one has done it yet down there? It is very popular up here, public schools, churches etc

I helped organize one for a local YMCA here, so sure fine I am in when I come down, hoping for October 1

I am considering a yearly rental too, it all depends on where I have to travel to, keeping it East Coast right now. I have former students in SC who want to hold an event. I am thinking of purchasing so that is why a six month preferred first.

He wasn't rude, go to a dance teacher meeting sometime, there you will see RUDE, there really are many like "Dance Moms Abbey", she is really playing herself

I am laughing so hard right now you have no idea. I am thinking I'll create an audition poster and put it on my website for y'all. Should it say, tutus and spandex only?

I can't wait to meet some of you, including you Irishman
