Dr. Kimberly Ireland MD, opposite the Waterfront Hotel (1050 Old Camp Rd Suite Bldg 230). She specializes in cataract surgery, and intraocular lenses, glaucoma lasers, treatments for diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration. She's very thorough and unlike so many physicians takes the time to listen. We've used another eye doctor in TV but were very happy when we switched to Dr. Ireland. Dr. Ireland is part of the St. Luke's Group.

If they take your insurance...Ocala Eye at Laurel Manor. I saw Dr. Elmallah, very thorough! Be prepared to wait though.

DW uses Ocala Eye. Several of their specialists are (surprise) located in Ocala. That having been said, they have been dealing with her various problems very well. We haven't had long waits (greater than 2weeks) so far. They take BC/BS. Don't know about other insurance.

For me it was the wait while in the office that was so long. Once I almost left.

We have been to Dr. Terpstra at Lake Eye Associates (https://www.lakeeye.com/index.php?page=home). Because LEA is in our United Healthcare network for periodic exams. You are first seen by a technician to check your vision and then the Doctor. I found her to be very easy to talk to and willing to answer all our questions. We were seen within a few minutes of our appointments. It is a VERY busy practice but were happy with the experience.

A second for Ocala Eye! They have, IMHO, the most comprehensive ophthalmological practice that I've come across in and around TV. And yes, their entire retinal section is in Ocala because of the complexity of retinal testing and treatment equipment; I believe that all other ophthalmological services can be provided in their Villages office.

Dr. Ireland at St. Luke's in Sumter Landing...the best. Also Dr. Collins at Peepers at Colony Plaza.

Mid Florida Eye is also very good but you will need to drive there. Their offices are just outside the StoneCrest entrance.

Another vote for Lake Eye but I see Dr. Wehrly. Very pleased with his care. Located in the Sharon Morris building.

ditto above.
I have been to a lot of eye specialists over the years, Dr. Ireland and her entire staff are without a doubt the best....total and complete focus on the needs of the patient.
