Does anyone let their cats out into the CYV court yard?

I have cats that have decided they like the cement lanai better than their litterbox. They are used to being outside so I think they miss the grass. Does anyone let their cats out into their CYV? My gate is close to the ground and I don't think there are any areas they can get out but someone told me about hawks taking cats.

Yes, hawks take cats & dogs. If there is not a bird cage, I would never let my kitties out there. We also have a lot of vultures.

Yes, hawks take cats & dogs. If there is not a bird cage, I would never let my kitties out there. We also have a lot of vultures.The vultures you need to most beware of are the ones that are capable of ringing your door bell! :22yikes:

Seriously, when we bought we were worried about how easily our cats could possibly get out both the front door and back sliders thereby exposed to predators. Since then we had our pool and birdcage put in and the sliders are no longer an issue. In the front one of the cats slipped out while I was answering the front door. Luckily the guy that was at the door quickly scared the cat back into the house. Shortly after that, and in minor part because of that incident, we had the front porch area screened in by T&D which then provided a buffer in case the cat got out the house door again.

I was always lucky that my cats had no desire to go near the door, thank goodness !!!

My 17 year old cat could have easily scaled the cyv wall!

Especially if a cat has front claws, it would be no problem getting over that wall for most.
