I have a new TV that I need to install in an entertainment center that we like and want to keep. The problem is, the entertainment center came without a center table, which was OK until now because the old TV we are replacing had it's own table. But now I need something built to hold the TV, and I also want shelves under the TV to hold the other A/V equipment. And, of course, the finish must closely match the finish of the original entertainment center.
Can anybody recommend a cabinet builder who will take on such a project?

Take some pictures and stop by the Villages woodshop. Put up a card requesting what you want, you might get a taker.

Two years ago I hired Rickey Meredith, a village resident, to build a cabinet for me to my specifications. His price was fair and his craftsmanship was excellent. On his business card it says, "No job too small". phone 352-446-3634 or 270-906-9201

Bob Ives does good work, when he works, but there is always a reason he is not producing on time. He did not finish my neighbor's job because too much time elapsed and he was finally told "finish or quit". He elected quit and the job was finished by another craftsman!! You should try someone else. Jimmie

I had a desk that was too big for my room and had Sam Bellavia (753-6563) cut the desk to fit, the back and sides. He did a great job. Very reasonable. He can do anything. Call him and get a price for the job you want.

Bob Ives , from Fine Woodworks, has never started a job and not completed. All jobs are done in a timely fashion. In 5 years of working in The villages, Bob Ives has done over 300 cabinet and furniture projects with no complaints.
Jimmie must be mistaken or has the name wrong. Bob Ives spends 30% of his time completing other peoples jobs where to cabinet or furniture guy has disappeared. Bob Ives works only from referrals and is booked currently for 2 months. That doesn't sound like a guy who walks away from jobs.
Somebody is sadly mistaken at the expense of Bob Ives and Fine Woodworks.

I would highly recommend Joe Smart with Precision Cabinets, 352-516-4046. Since moving to TV, Joe has built an entertainment center, computer desk with hutch and a storage cabinet for my garage. His work is very good.

Joe Smart designed a pantry/cabinet/drawer unit for the front wall of our dinette area, which we are eagerly awaiting. His estimate (for all wood, which will match our not-all-wood kitchen cabs) was only $200 less than summers kitchen cabs, who did the cabs in our spec home in 2011. Plus summer didn't have drawer units in the depth we wanted, so we wouldn't have drawers. We went with Joe.
I got Joe's name from doing a search on TOTV. He came highly recommended. Keep in mind we don't have the finished product yet, but I liked his ideas on how to keep it looking professional. Also, he responded immediately when I called him.
(And he has a Golden Retriever...)
