Thinking of a trip to Naples and Sarasota in the fall. I was wondering if any one had an opinion on whether it is too early at age 50 for a quick 1st visit to TV. I was thinking of a 2 or 3 day visit between stops with friends. :ho: Thanks in advance

Nope. Come and take a look around. Visit the squares. Talk to people you meet and ask them about the community.

No. Age 50 isn't too early. Love the SNL cowbell skit btw. "We're gonna need more cowbell!" :a20:

BS Beef, I was just shy of turning 50 when I visited TV for the first time 3 years ago with a friend who was house hunting in The Villages. I have been back to The Villages 5 times since then, and I will be back for visit #6 in October. My goal is to be a frog someday! There are several hotels to stay at in or near The Villages. You can even rent a golf cart for a few days if you wish and keep the golf cart at your hotel if the hotel is close enough to Spanish Springs or Lake Sumter Landing. Hope that helps.

It's never to early to visit here. I would love my younger siblings to come down and take a look at this place so that they might considered it in the future.

Where do I find out about renting a golf cart. I am looking at either TownePlace or The Waterfront Inn. I really appreciate the info

Hi Beef - I'm 50 and just moved here a few months ago. Great place to be.
We will be here 70% of the time and renting our place out the other 30%, but we are loving it here. Very relaxed a friendly, with quite a few of us "young ones" around to spice things up. Actually, I'm pretty tame compared to some of these seniors! They know how to have a good time!

:agree: Yes, I also got hooked on The Villages too early. It is all my friend's fault for dragging me with her to The Villages 3 years ago when she went house hunting LOL.

If Grandpa and Grandma's buggies don't work out, go on the classified ad section of The Villages Daily Sun (http://www.thevillagesdailysun.com), look for golf cart rentals. There are about 8 ads listing golf carts for rent.
And I have stayed at both TownePlace at Spanish Springs and The Waterfront Inn at Lake Sumter Landing; both places are very nice -- you won't go wrong at either place. If you have an AARP card or AAA Motor Club, you can save about 10% off of their regular rate.

 So I listened to the folks here and was told 50 was not too young for a visit. Well forgive me if I respectfully disagree. We had a fantastic time. 4 days was clearly not even close to enough. So since our return back to Ohio I've been going over different scenario's to see how to move up retirement. Already starting on plans for our next visit (and it will certainly not be only 4 days again). Stayed at TownPlace Suites and rented a golf cart from Grandpa and Grandma's. Hit SS town square 2 nights and LSL the other. 1st morning I grabbed the paper and headed to Dunkin Donuts, after the crossword puzzle hit Cal's for a haircut. That place was hoppin'. We just had a great time!!! Some of the few things we did get to do besides the town squares. Checked out some open houses 2 of the days, trolley ride on our 2nd afternoon. The trolley ride was the best use of our time for an overview. Maybe one of the most enjoyable things we did was drive around in the golf cart exploring. Some of the things for next time will be to check out more of the different neighborhoods, check out some rec. centers, and visit/dine at some of the country clubs.
Seriously just another quick thanks  to all for the advise, tips and tricks. We loved it and will absolutely be back. :pepper2::pepper2::pepper2:

Glad you enjoyed it. I did not jump in earlier...........But I started at age 40. Just turned 55 and purchased this year. My TV Broker has been a trooper. I stuck with the same guy for the 15 year period. He is down-to-earth and no pressure. If you are looking to start a relationship with a TV real estate broker, send me a private message and I can share his info.
