View Full Version : The Villages Resort style living

We toured and stayed at retirement communities from Arizona to Virginia. The VILLAGES was the last and we knew we found home. I hear comments about how we are becoming to large, too many 40 year olds etc. We found the resort attitude of residents and visitors fit exactly what we were looking for. That was nine years ago and we are still of the same mindset. Take away the younger folks and the resort style attitude and you will be left with one more community referred to as a typical gods waiting room. This villager invites more people that think and act like they are living and not waiting regardless of age. I prey that we never get to a point that we no longer enjoy this wonderful resort.
I hope to see y'all at golf today, at the club for dinner and the square for dancing tonight. I will supply the Ben gay for tomorrow morning. LOL
Love

The resort feeling is what my wife and love about TV - on vacation every day. I'm not in my 40s (56) and still a couple years from retirement, but we sure do look forward to moving to TV and start livin' the dream!
I don't care if "younger" couples come down - I never want TV to become just another "retirement" community. The people are too active and that's the way we like it.

May wind up being a warm dry Winter up your way. I say that because here we get big blizzards every few years, six years ago my wife and I went on The Grand World Voyage, 113 days. Thought we would miss the big snows, was warmest Winter for years.

We were up in Tampa yesterday and on the drive home my hubby said "almost home" and this really does feel like home now after living here for just 1 year. I have to agree. It is a wonderful place to come back to no matter how long we are away. I love the diversity of residents ages, the town centers with older and younger people, and with children and their parents going to the movies, or enjoying the music and dancing it up with the older generation. Its true without it we would be just another place to grow old in.Here we have all ages all around us, just like we do when our families are around...
